Mr. World (played by Crispin Glover aka Marty McFly's father) is the New God of Globalization. His thing is about systems, the idea that everything is connected. The vast bureaucracy of the government, making decisions of policy and law that happen almost invisibly? That's Mr. World. Giant mega-corporations making billion-dollar mergers without you even noticing? That's Mr. World. The Internet is a part of him to be sure, but he's bigger than that. He's the top dog of the New Gods. After all, even the Media and Technology (the other two New Gods we are introduced to) are just pieces of a bigger system. Everything's connected. And Mr. World pulls the strings.
