[Vault] Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood - 1x4 An Alchemist's Anguish - Reaction!

Comments

Never watched Brotherhood cuz I am still too attached to the original series but I happened to just click on this particular episode and omg, the story destroyed me all over again. I remember bawling my eyes out in the original, and now, seeing your reactions to it, killed me again. Watched the reaction 3X, cried along with you in the same place each time. I also loved seeing Navi's subtle eye-widening when she realized what would be covered in this ep. One of my favorite reactions to anything cuz it was all so perfect. Thanks, guys!

Sickleweed

Would love it if you guys watched Elfen Lied.

i know they uploaded this 2 weeks ago but i just found out, so here's 2 fun facts about tthis episode 1.- Back in 2014 or sometthing japan made a list of MOST HATED characters in anime, and Tucker was number 1 by a big difference. 2.- The Speach the guy with the red eyes (the one who killed nina and tucker) gives a speach about 2 good and inocents souls getting back to him, he was refering to nina and Alexander, and even in the manga at the end of this chaptet they show Nina and Alexander souls going to heaven, and Tocker soul going yo hell.

Tbh, after watching Mitty's story-arc in Made in Abyss this doesn't seem as dark anymore... :p

Varjo

This mini-arc is always rough to get through, but it's really important to a lot of the philosophical questions the show poses. I remember my GF in high school couldn't get through it, sadly XD

I would say the age range is 14+ cos of the animation but not lower cos of the brutality and mature themes. In my opinion this is the lowest point in the show. They hit you with it so early on. You'll see why tho. Episode 3, Faults with Religion, Episode 4, Faults with Science. Don't let this tragic event put you off the show cos now they do all the military stuff. FMA 2003 had a slower but more detailed introduction. Thank you guy on the left for point out what Armstrong said!! And I also thought why not kill him when I saw it but at the end of the show you'll really believe that's it's just wrong to end a life no matter what somehow like Avatar. It's beautiful so you'll see. Great reaction!

blackalchemist

Glad to have you aboard AJ ^_^

Kamina 1

When you want to make a grown man cry. Just show him this episode lol

Kamina 1

this is not a kid show

Jorge B

Oh man, this reminded me of the first time I saw this arc in the 2003 version. It was much longer in that, so it had a larger impact. Brotherhood rushed it a lot but I'm glad you'all still had a similar experience. :)

Asadullah Khan

Actually, in the Japanese he just says "2 souls." And both Shinto and Buddhism (Japan's 2 largest religions) believe that animals have souls. So yeah, I like to think he meant Nina and Alexander, not Nina and Tucker.

Jen A. Blue

Haha yes. Next time, we will make sure we will have tissue box

The Normies

Cat goes meow Cow goes moo Mouse goes squeak Dog goes Ed..ward >:D Seriously though, first we had the extremes of religion last episode and now the extremes of science this episode. Alchemy in FMAB is a great thing, but I love how Arakawa also showed that something good - just like a lot of other things - can always be taken to the extremes. With this episode, you just got a taste of the more darker side of FMAB. I mean, if Episode 2 didn't already show you a snippet of that, this episode certainly did.

RIP Ben. FMA:B Ep1 - FMA:B Ep3.

Bryce Nielsen

The new cozy 4?

Ori Lotus

Something has always bugged me about this episode. Scar prays for the souls of Tucker and Nina, but completely ignores Alexander. I know he's an animal and humans don't treat animals like people. But still, praying for Tucker's soul over Alexander's just feels wrong.

coffeemilk

You guys might wanna invest in some napkins. You will be crying buckets in the future.

Robert Quill

RIP my nigga ben

David Jones

Marketa I feel your pain ='(

Jigga Man

Whats scary is he still thought his daughter was in a better place where shes helping the progress of science.

Burooj Ahanger

Now you know why I wanted you guys to watch One Punch Man between Attack on Titan and this...

Pavi

The Mangaka wrote this chapter in because many fans were writing to her how awesome Alchemy is. She wanted to show that there is two sides to everything.

Jackie

Poor Ben. R.I.P.

Pavi

Welcome to FeelMetal guys 😢. also, Ep. 3-extreme of religion, Ep. 4-extreme of science
