2018-02-08 21:14:43 +0000 UTCHughes' death never stung for me. I always thought it was way too obvious. He was so over-the-top chipper and upbeat -- he effectively was a total cliche. It's like Will Smith's pilot buddy in Independence Day, it's clear he only exists to get killed. I guess that kind of emotional manipulation just doesn't work on me? *shrug* I seem to be in the minority, though.

I know that it wouldn't be spread out as long that way, but the series really works best when consumed at a rapid pace, because there are a bunch of little details in each episode that can easily be forgotten when done week-to-week.
