The It Crowd, Parks and Recreation... both hilarious shows. Heroes, Misfits... both really great shows about people with superpowers. Downton Abbey. I know it’ll probably never get support, but it’s one of the best shows out there, and one of the most watched shows around the world. It’s beautifully produced and the character writing is really great.

The Wire is great but it demands attention. They only use one flashback in the entire series and it is only in the first episode because HBO execs forced them to put it in. It doesn't handhold the viewer and knows that you are smart. It's a great show filled with a wonderful assortment of characters and there is a lot of social commentary regarding the US. Some episodes will hit you hard. Season 4 is the best season of any show ever. FRINGE is an awesome mindbending sci-fi show from JJ Abrams. It'll go to weird places. THE MAGICIANS is kind of like Harry Potter but for adults except the Harry Potter in this isn't The One. It's a clever show with great writing. Margo and Eliot are the best. PERSON OF INTEREST was created by Jonathan Nolan, brother of Christopher, and he did Westworld. The premise for Person of Interest is that after 9/11, the government obtained a system that has access to every single networked camera, microphone, GPS, etc. and uses that information to detect major threats against the United States. It will also determine threats against everyday people (but not crimes of passion since those are harder to predict). It starts off spotty, but it ends with a bang. It's a show that delves into the ethics of mass surveillance and the nature of AIs and how powerful they can be. It doesn't get much love because everyone, including me, wrote it off as your typical procedural with a twist, but this show is far different from the likes of CSI and NCIS. This show needs love.

the greatest show that ever was is called "kaamelott". started around 2009, about arthurian legends. it's a comedy that goes pretty dark sometimes. short clips the first few seasons then long episodes afterwards. if you can find it, with good subtitles (i don't think it has ever been dubbed in english) you won't be sorry. it's the greatest thing i've ever watched on tv.
