There are so many things in this show that are more real than you'd think. In 1967 California passed a ban on open carry that was actually supported by the NRA after Black Panthers started carrying guns. In the show it was women, but generally in this country we don't see something as dangerous until it's being done or in the hands of people other than straight white males. Also, the guy in a lab coat explaining women couldn't carry guns - there is always always always some guy out there with plenty of bullshit science to show whatever it is they want to believe. I just watched your reaction to episode 2 of season 4 and Bojack's grandmother warning Bojack's mom not to carry things because of her uterus is a thing people believed. It was called the wandering womb theory. It was started in ancient greece, but it was promoted by doctors in the US up through the 1800s. It was believed that most maladies women experienced were do to her uterus moving around and that this could be caused by moving too fast or lifting things or ... well, by pretty much anything. There was even controversy that riding trains would cause women to die instantly because of their uterus moving around. I wish I was making it up. Also, dear Rana, we love you, get well soon.

I disagree with what they did in Bojack. The answer is clearly MOAR guns and in fact every man should also carry grenades. Never know when a woman will have her pERIOD and freak out and shoot up a school.

I agree with this episode’s conclusion honestly, if women (or minorities lol) suddenly started instigating mass shootings, mass shootings would be considered a much bigger threat or even branded as terrorism. Currently nearly every single shooter is a white man, most of whom appear respectable (though theyre often not, and frequently are racist). Anyway, I think shooting ranges are fun but I also increasingly wonder if it’s worth the risk of guns falling in the hands of someone who will, say, shoot up a synagogue. Just my opinion though!
