[Early Access] Lost - 1x13 Hearts and Minds - Nikki Reacts!

Nikki reacts to the Boone and Shannon episode of Lost! What were your thoughts exactly when this episode first aired? A lot of Nikki rage in this episode I tried to capture it all. I love editing these episodes for the little moments that I forget about like Jin giving Hurley the fish or Jack first seeing Sun's garden! Let's chat in the comments!

Im here for Nikki’s reaction and Surja’s trolling

This is the worst episode bc sawyer is not in the ep . I love sawyer

mohammed

This is true. I wonder if he had some kind of idea that the obsession was on the creepy side or if it was just a coincidence.

The Normies

Lol maybe if we get a GIF collection going I can have her react to those!

Hahaha I truly enjoyed trolling her here. In fact I will take it upon myself to do a better job of trolling and misleading her in the future. Young me was also very confused by this. Locke's monologues and speeches in Season 1 are some of THE BEST. Reliving and editing those scenes have been some of my favorite moments. I remember reading on forums that we could see the smoke in this episode but I didn't catch it when I first saw it. In fact I still have kind of a hard time catching it! I still think the first time we saw the smoke monster was the Season 1 Finale when Jack and Kate say "I saw it.." Yeah it is a slower episode. I've been trying to crank out 2 Losts a week but sadly I end up spending a good amount of time on 1 than I thought! I thought I would be able to rip through these but turns out it takes me more time to make sure I include everything that is important for future episodes and little easter eggs/trolly moments from me. I fully agree that this is mind blowing for a network TV show with 24 episodes. I have yet to see ANYTHING of this caliber on the networks still even today. This ep, last one and Special are def. slow but you're right they are absolutely necessary in building up the Locke/Boone/Jack climax. One of the other things I've noticed is just HOW carefully the writers planted hints of every character's backstories in even the smallest scenes in the early episodes.

Just posted this morning! They will be posted on Tuesdays from now on along with the YouTube release. Will try to post them around the same time!

So she was spoiled on this years ago when her and her coworker were talking about Ian Somerhalder (Boone) in Vampire Diaries. So she told me before we started the series that she was spoiled that Boone dies at some point in Season 1.

Full reaction for episode 10?

Don't worry Suraj, you technically didn't introduce Hurley's real name. He said it previously in Raised by Another I believe when he was telling Jack that taking census would be a good idea. Also, top notch trolling by you and that was highly enjoyed. Love the editing on those in general and I feel like I say this every time. As for the episode, I remember being so disappointed with Locke and in general disbelief like Nikki was. For some reason, Locke was my favourite since the pilot, and I always enjoyed his over the top philosophies and extremes like the Michael Angelo monologue this episode. So thinking he tied up Shannon and getting her killed made young me very confused and questioning my life decisions to being so drawn to Locke. So yeah, writers did troll me there. Another way they unintentionally (I think) trolled us was with the monster. A big thing we questioned every week early season one was WHAT IS THE MONSTER?? If I remember correctly, they showed the smoke for the first time this episode and I was like no way! It's a pile of exploding smoke? What is this!? But at the end I was like ahh, Boone was just tripping and that wasn't the real monster. So intentional troll there? Not sure. Interesting way to show it to us the first time (I think) in a hallucination though. Another slower episode. but really important for the upcoming roller coaster with the Boone and Locke plot that climaxes all the way to the end of the season. Whatever the Case May Be, this, and Special might be on the slower side after the peak of 1x11, but they do a good job sprinkling in comedy there, and introducing little things that are integral to take us to the rest of the season. At the end of the day, it's a show about the characters and they do a good job handling network requirements of 24 episode seasons back in the day when TV shows didn't even get that big of a budget. They did alright considering all of that to keep us interested in the characters and keep those slower or more not so related episode to the main plot to be interesting and enjoyable to watch. It's really a journey of the characters at times no matter what the plot is, and those three episodes prove it. It was nice learning about Boone and Shannon, and the romantic reveal was interesting although I didn't care much for them at the time.

That sucks that Nikki got spoiled about the eventual death of Boone. Has she gotten anything else spoiled (besides Hurley’s actual name LOL). I hope not!

Zach

You should post reactions of Nikki reacting to her reactions.! It would be very meta.

VicRam

Locke should get a medal for curing Boone of his creepy obsession with Shannon.
