Book 3 CHANGE is here! I know you all are excited! Enjoy A Breath of Fresh Air!!

[Early Access] The Legend of Korra - 3x1 A Breath of Fresh Air - Group Reaction

Comments

Thank you Raina he's speech and words are so deep "it contains truth within the myth" and the instinct quote is great

Exactly. Being separated for 10 000 years requires both sides to learn from each other and communicate. You don't give up after a few days.

slvr572

adjustment period doesnt automatically mean Wan was right about them not being able to coexist

Burooj Ahanger

The prison was made to make it impossible for a nonbender. The prison is accessible only through airbending or earthbending. The rotation of shifts is every three weeks.

Lavota Carter

Airbending is the only bending that was almost wiped out. That is unbalanced. The only people changing are nonbenders. No one is becoming switched.

Lavota Carter

So true

Great reaction as always. Book 3 is one of my favorites and I love Zaheer, not just because he's a great villain but because he's so centered and woke. He's extremely compelling and likable. Also, I guess y'all missed it or it wasn't said yet on the show but harmonic convergence balanced out the nations so airbending is the only newly acquired bending. I will say this, I could tell that y'all were salty... more so the guys. For me, even though Aang is 'gone' I still felt connected to him through his family. Tenzin is awesome as well as Bumi and Kya. The air babies, especially Jinora are also good representations of Aang's bloodline. I hope that you guys fully let go of the past and enjoy these next two books because if you focus on Korra and this universe then you'll be in for an exciting ride. If not, you'll be disappointed! Just my two cents!

Briana J

Damn...well put! :)

Ozai was simply a dumbass who wanted to rule the world

Jose

lol she was like "did you hear that speech he gave? .... did you hear what he said?... dude did...." poor Rana she deserves more attention. <3

Jose

ozzai didnt make sense zahear has a whole ideaology

Phonic Reassignment

best villain

Phonic Reassignment

Am i only one that got triggered everytime Rana got cutoff in her hype of dat Zaheer greatness?

Gene Bookwalter

no juan was wrong and korra just accomplished aangs life long dream

Phonic Reassignment

"It is the dawn of a new age, the end of the WHITE LOTUS and soon the end of the AVATAR" - Zaheer

Jose

totally agree

Jose

They need to let go and become wind.

Anthony

Hi guys! So, I think that they are all airbenders because of the Spirit world. The spirit world is ALL about balance. Take the existence of Raava and Vaatu. The moon and the water spirit. Everything is about BALANCE. And the world HAS BEEN out of balance because the Air Nomads were wiped out while the other nations continued to produce benders, even if in smaller scale than others. So I think that when the Spirit and "Normal" World became one, it tried to automatically bring this balance back. And they did it with the Airbenders. Just my take on it. <3

Júlia S. Spanopoulos

Now... reach out.

The saltiness was real with this episode. You guys really need to let go of the Aang comparisons. We're literally 3 seasons in and you're STILL wanting for an avatar that is dead and gone. Like Tenzin said "I am not a reflection of my father, I am Tenzin" let Korra be Korra, this is best book and you will let it go to waste talking about Aang this and Aang that every 5 mins.

Tiang Maphosa

Wow...the scepticism was strong in this one. Well, it gets better!

olof

Nice

Eric

"When you base your expectations only on what you see, you blind yourself to the possibilities of a new reality." Very fitting quote, given the unreasonably salty discussion at the end of the video. You will understand, in time :)

Korra Season 3 & 4 finally. Zaheer and season 4 villain are some of the best morally complex villains who were animated. Zaheer especially to me seems like the anti-Iroh. Intelligent and wise, but unlike Iroh lacks empathy and recklessly seeks to fulfill his own agenda despite the consequences.

It’s only airbending becos when harmonic convergence happened, the world was off balance, that’s why people are just popping up with airbender ability becos it changed the world and make it balance again

Etty Gafa

Yup.

Whoa...I actually had no clue he voiced him! That's awesome

Especially after the "are you guys upset?" Comment from Seraj, Followed by Tenzin and Korra's "some poeple will love it, some will hate it depends on who you ask, but it's in the past and over now" comment :)

Even As a strong "Korra" lover/defender...you said it, my friend. Zaheer is a standout :)

Absolutely! He's up there in my top CHARACTERS from either series :)

Enter Zaheer...easily, without question, one of the top greatest characters from either series, Korra OR ATLA. I'm so excited for this :)

Zaheer is Awesome! Best villain of the show.

Reggie Pace

Korra is giving access to the spirit world to everyone. Before, the spirit world was only accessible to the world's elite like Iroh and Aang. You had to be either incredibly privileged or the friggin' Avatar to get to it. Everyone deserves equal access to knowledge and the spirits. And heck, it's all worth it to see Bumi with BumJu and Jinorra with Furry Foot.

Anthony

I enjoyed the meta commentary by Tenzin at 11:55

KuzonFire121

This season pretty much gets better and better by the episode. Season 3 episode 1 is, compared to the rest of the season, one of the weakest episodes, but it's still a strong introduction to the new villain and Bumi's new power!

iStarlyTV

#1 Zaheer fanboy here! Even us "korra haters" jizz when this dudes on screen!!

Gene Bookwalter

Im sorry, but a lot of the comments are right. Im kinda surprised at how quickly and unjustifiably some of you were so skeptical after the very first episode of a season.

CK12341

No double drop? 😭

Lester

You guys have a really hard time understanding simple concepts. It makes these reactions hard to watch. I regret paying money for this.

Able

T be

Love Zaheer, and he is voiced by Henry Rollins!

At least their opinion can only go up from here. It's a great season and they will see that soon.

Kryptic

The hype! THE HYPE!

4Tom4lepus4

Evil waterbenders for two seasons and now an evil airbender? It's like the universe is balancing what happened in The Last Airbender.

Barky McFluffybutt

Zaheer is great because we really only have one model for Airbender philosophy through Aang (and the monks who trained him, and Tenzin) but this guy has this twisted version of the philosophy and it's sweet as hell.

Alex

A MESSAGE TO SURAJ: Dude, great way for the Cozy 4 to start off book 3! The reaction was great, the editing was awesome, and all around we all appreciate the fuck out of the work you put in! I hope you guys have a fun time with book 3, and continue to enjoy LoK <3 <3 <3

Manny D.

I always saw airbenders returning as Harmonic Convergence re-balancing the world again after no airbenders for 170 years. Korra at the end of S2 even said she felt a shift in the planet's energy and that they were entering a new age. Raiko using Korra as a scapegoat for everything ...typical. The thing you have to understand is that EVERY Avatar does what they think is right for their time period. Wan thought it was best for humans and spirits to stay separate because he saw that they couldn't live together in peace and weren't ready for it BUT Korra saw that that was a possibility now, and did what she thought was best for the balance of the world. You may not agree with that or thought it was dumb on her part, but there's honestly no right way to do all of this imo. Besides, the only one that Korra can draw wisdom from for this specific matter was Wan and his experience, but the thing is what happened during his time and his experience no longer applies to the present time because the circumstances are different. What I liked about Korra's decision to keep the portals open was that she took everything SHE KNEW and understood and made a decision based on that. That was literally the first huge decision thrown on her as the Avatar. Naturally though, like all decisions that people make, there will be moments where you'd feel insecure about it and even question whether or not it was the right one at all. That's just reality and it actually did wonders for Korra as a character even more. Korra not having her past lives to depend on will really challenge her now because she has to deal with all these new changes on her own. That imo sets up great potential for her as a character and for the story overall. Mike and Bryan bluntly called the past lives a "crutch" and in a lot of ways, I agree. If she still had her past lives now, her struggle would be different. She wouldn't feel as alone or as clueless as she does now, and instead of always relying on her past lives for answers now, she really has to as she said in the S2 finale, forge her own path as the Avatar. I don't know about anyone else at the time, but I was really excited at the thought and potential of that, and that was when I knew that this specific season was going to be great. It was literally a "breath of fresh air" (lol sorry). Korra lost her past lives and made a decision to keep the portals open, and now she has to face the outcome and all its consequences. There's a reason why this book is called "Change". "Change can be good or bad, depending on your point of view" "When you base your expectations only on what you see, you blind yourself to the possibility of a new reality" LOL this so applies to how people (the fandom specifically) view LOK in comparison to ATLA. It's like Mike and Bryan are yet again, trying to tell us something... Rana's excitement was fantastic lol and she was spot on about Zaheer being a huge threat despite him being a nonbender before. I mean honestly, you don't isolate a nonbender like that if they weren't such a huge threat. Damn, this is really long now :P

Lalisa Truong

the air benders finally come back and they aren't impressed and worried about other types of benders.... smh

Scottie McCormick

You’ll see why we love this book bro.

Anonamai

Nahid has it right. Harmonic convergence and the spirits returning brought balance to the world. And Zaheer is the best. Like Zuko best fam.

Anonamai

The finale based on the poll I think.

Liam Skoda

Zaheer is the best Villain across both Avatar series.

Ehson Raza

I noticed a common misconception they didnt think Book 2 was the end. They thought Book 1 was it. Nickelodeon wanted 3 more seasons after the numbers of Book 1 came in. They worked on all 3(2,3,4) at the same time.

Joseph Mchenry

Remember, the whole series of AtLA took place in the span of year or less. In LoK, we get to see more of Korra's journey. At the start of book 3, it's been roughly over a year and few weeks since book 1 episode 1. Anyways, hope you guys enjoy this book!!it's going to blow your mind and rock your world!

It was the 1st of a two parter and discussion was retarded

Their reactions was good but Surj and Mickey discussion was terrble

Can’t wait :3

Hash_KW

Y’all in for a freakin treat! Book 3 is the best Book!!!!!

HesOneShot

Wan thought he was right too but separating the two worlds didn't do the world any good. like Unalaaq said people forgot about the spirits and the world suffered for it. i.e Zhao trying to kill the ocean and the moon spirit

Cesare Briarson

nah you right Micky, an obviously dangerous prisoner getting a power that’s been on the brink of extinction for a generation and has never been used on this show for an antagonist, id need more too....he needed a pun on breakout

KuzonFire121

Book three focuses a lot on Cause and effect- the idea that every action and choice has a reaction and a consequence, and I love that

Ken

Korra was right to open the portals , in the wan episode that's how the world started were the world was the spirit world. Wan brought in balance to the world he closed it because at the time it was the easiest way to bring balance with the spirits but not the humans.

Morokid

Zaheer IS NOT Unaulaq. Zaheer has specific opinions and points of view that motivates the intentions he has. He is a very big ideological guy that is willing to go to extremes in order to fullfill his opinions. This is the best villan in the Avatar Universe. You guys will see

Oscar Villalobos

Excuse me Sir, do you have a moment to speak about Guru Laghima?

Anthony

One more thing, I see you guys are upset about Korras severed connection lol. She lost the connection yes, but that doesn't mean the former avatars are gone. They are spirits which means they are still in the spirit world lol.

Morokid

A little lack luster....how can you formulate an entire book off of the first episode. This was a two part episode when aired and you would get more. Its useless to discuss and really you don't understand the story at this point. Dislike this reaction, just a little bit.

season 3 is in my opinion the best!!! and best villian

the reason why the airbenders returned was because of harmonic convergence ever since firelord sozin killed off the airbenders there was imbalance in the world. harmonic convergence was said to amplify spiritual energy in atla the lion turtle said that before the avatar they did not bend the elements but the energy in themselves so it makes sese the harmonic connvergence would cause airbenders to start popping up since the other nations didn't need rebalancing

Killjoy

The villian is a student of the game, obsessed with air nomad culture and philosophy he most likely was practicing without bending and based his entire life and fighting style on it.

Morokid

So much saltiness... but Rana’s reaction is a delight. I really enjoy how she is always open to what the series has to offer and patiently waits for it. And, to be honest, many of the points touched during the discussion could have been resolved by simply taking the time to analyze well what happened in past seasons. Anyway, I am very excited to see the reactions to future episodes, specially because Book 3 and 4 are the best structured in my opinion, and gave greater freedom to delve into the characters to the creators.

Julia Contreras

we'll see a lot of excitement next episode though so im hyped for that

Ryley Q

Fire...

Barky McFluffybutt

This was a bit weak reaction,no hate :/. I thought they would be more excited about new air nation.

Katarina Kurko

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH1111111!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jose

THIS IS THE SEASON RIGHT HERE

Oscar Villalobos

After next weeks episode there won’t be any doubts or complaints about this book. There will just be jizz in everyone’s pants. Yes that includes you Rana, woman-jizz

SHOUTOUT to Rana who has been enjoying this episode based from that reaction she gave lol

Jose

Uhh YEAH. That ending 😍

Let the hurt from book 2 go and look towards the future so you can enjoy this season to the fullest. These next few seasons will leave you in shambles

This episode was the beginning of a new and unexpected scene between Korra and Asami :)

Jose

For reals haha, Rana has been the only excited one for this Book and a little of Suraj. But Micky and Nahid will for sure be REALLLYYY HYPEED by the next episode lol

Jose

HELP! does anyone know what episodes will be uploaded on the same day???????????

Jose

I personally do not dislike the normies, but i agree on what you said. Yes, they were wrong on the fact that every single villain hates the avatar. Each villain has their own strategies and reasons on what they are doing that will lead them to confront and destroy the avatar for the well being of their goal.

Jose

haha Mickey will be impressed lol

Jose

Well said, it was and is a smart writing choice. If they didn't loose that op well of knowledge it would have been a crush and may have created bigger plot holes.

Morokid

Only air bending came back because Harmonic Convergence balanced out the world’s spiritual levels, and airbending was in severe decline

Jason Balogun

I thought that the losing connection was a necessary nerf to her character. Going by the lore having the connection gains knowledge of all past avatars would mean that there is no real challenge to her now she has control over it. Even in the last airbender when Aang finally used it to fight Ozai it wasn't even a challenge. It still gives you a power boost by channeling Ravas energy but now is not something that can just give her stupid power whenever she wants.

Lewis H

Zaheer and the other villains are the coolest and best villains aside from Azula. They're nowhere near as deep as Azula, but they make up for it being unique benders. Hell, having an airbender be a VILLAIN is huge!

Legion

Nahiiid... cheer up Nahiiid... soon

All ready desperate for the next episode,

Pumpkin

Will she destroy her nukes too?

That was the dumbest discussion after a Reaction Micky and Surj had like Amon didn't hate the avatar, he hated bending, and Vatuu was born to hate the avatar, Unlaq didn't hate the avatar until she didn't want help from him and Tarrlock didn't hate Korra after she refuse to get out of his way. First time I dislike a normies video

Rana's reaction is very satisfying because thats how I reacted myself! We won't talk about Micky and Nahid's saltiness lol. Book 3 is here fam!

Not sure if anyone has said this to you guys yet because the comments won’t load for me but the reason Mike and Bryan said that they did what they did with the past lives was because people were complaining that Aang wasn’t in the series enough and they wanted to focus on Korra’s story so they figured the only canonical explaination was to rid of the past lives. This is one of the few times I was pretty upset with the Avatar community if people had just been patient we probably would have had episodes like Roku and Aang did in ATLA particularly in this season it would of made sense.

Anthony Mosher

Does the White Lotus ever win a fight in Legend of Korra?

Frankie H

I dunno how you guys weren't hype about it, besides Rana. Rana knows what's up.

SaviorOfNirn

Watch the next episode and you'll be into it for sure.

Trainer Red

This is probably my favorite season in the avatar series but book two earth is pretty close

Silvermoon

If I was a writer on The Legend of Korra I would've killed the connection to the past as well. I think the Normies are basically a microcosm for the avatar fanbase. If your audience is ALWAYS looking back on The Last Airbender, you gotta kill the connection to tell the story you want to tell. Otherwise any time you reference or go back to that, people will fall down that "The Last Airbender" well once again.

Heru Muharrar

YESSS, my favorite villain!!!

Justin Neason

They dont seem too impressed so far. I was instantly hooked after bumi got airbending

TheAjalin

I meant Aang not Sang. Also the Rift trilogy is also a good read with a similar problem.

Adam Vialpando

Airbenders were always the most spiritually aware so its reasonable that they would be the ones rising up due to harmonic convergence. Also fun fact: the new big bad Zaheer is voiced by Henry Rollins and it's actually pretty funny in hindsight when you get to chapter 5

You guys should read 'The Promise' trilogy. If you did then Korea's decision to leave the spirit portals open would make way more sense. Sang faced a similar problem between trying to reestablish the status quo that had been around for century and forging ahead with something new. Change is hard, after all we all like to stay in our comfort zone, but it's not always bad. Nahid's focusing too much on the short term inconveniences, as most would, but those are fixable. In the long term, as people get used to coexisting, people will understand all the good it did.

Adam Vialpando

The Hype is real! Loved the episode, great job on the editing! The reaction to Bumi Airbending gives me life, such great faces :D And Tenzin tearing up always gets me, its such a powerful moment. The next few weeks are gonna be so great.

One more thing, Book 3 is probably my favorite season of Avatar period, including ATLA. For me it’s tied with Book 2 of ATLA.

Andre Ransom

This is part of the reason I like watching reactions, it's to see people notice/care about things I didn't when I watched. The loss of the connection to her past lives for example; it was sad, but it's a new age. I like the newness of it all, wiping the slate clean.

Manny D.

Ah, the best book is finally here.

The "Raik-OH NOOOOO" kills me every single time I hear it

MRBS

In my opinion, Zaheer is the BEST villain in all of Avatar, not just LOK. He’s definitely up there with Amon and Azula, but I’d put him over those two as well. I’m so hyped right now, a little salty that I have to wait for episode two cause I know you guys will be officially locked in after that, but regardless the hype is alive.

Andre Ransom

*I love the way you guys picked up right away how dangerous zaheer really is. Most people take a while to understand the reasoning under his fighting skills

Jjj.

I'm glad Rana understands the hype lol. Zaheer is just getting started.

MAY

A great thing with this is that books 3 and 4 while separate series do follow on. They finally got the go ahead for 2 seasons at once. Also Zaheer is my favourite villain in all of avatar. The season really gives him a backstory and motives and he is a villain you will grow to understand and while you probably wouldn't approve of his methods or all of his beliefs. Unlike previous villains you can really understand his cause.

The next episode will definitely lock you guys in. If not that then the third will.

Andre Ransom

Zaheer, Amon and Azula are hands down the best villains in the series. No other villain brings the same sense of danger and charm they did

Rodrigo Borges

First

Jarryd Thompson

The best season!

Legion

Don't worry. Zaheer is not a generic villain. He has motive, purpose, charisma, and is a true threat.

Leenis

I think they did have book 3 in the works when season 2 was being produced. I just vaguely remember social media posts from the writers about the book 3 script when book 2 was being released

Rania

YAAAY!

Dan Bart

Yesss Zaheer!!!

MoxiePoxy

man has micky paid attention during any single episode so far? talks so much shite

j

enter the best villian on a show. ever.

Jjj.

Salty over the no double drop today , vut lets goooo 😂

Rodrigo Borges

Also it said in the avatar Juan story arc that harmonic convergence increases spiritual power like ten fold so jinora being proficient with spirituality she proud felt something and like found rava with a spiritual radar Kinda

Jason mcconahey

Can't wait for next week! 😁

The reason only airbending came back was because the world had to balance itself after harmonic convergence every harmonic convergence the world rebalances in a sense after who win the fight between vatuu and rava so that’s why only airbending came back harmonic convergence like fixed everything

Jason mcconahey

This is the best season in all of Korra. You’ve seen nothing yet. You don’t know the power of Book 3 😂😂

Andre Ransom

Just you wait. You've seen nothing yet.

Leenis

“Zaheer may become a great villain.” lol

Brandon Hughes

Let go your earthly tether.

Zach

Book 3 is the BEST

Ansley

This season is my favorite. :)

Tim Lawrence

Really excited to see the reactions to this season, since I think it’s the best one along with book 4. Anyone else looking forward to seeing their reactions to next week?

Everyone was complaining lol

Korra Book 3 is by far the best.

Just one more month until the hallway fight

Barky McFluffybutt

Haggrid: You're a Airbender Bumi.

Barky McFluffybutt

Breathe........ just, breathe.

Been waiting all day, here we go!!!

BlackHeart279
