Like i watched the first episode and thought "too kiddy for me" and didn't watch the next till a few months later. A year after I came back to it and gave it a few more episodes. Once it gets into the core story the plot matures and you get introduced to characters with a lot more depth. May not be Avatar the last airbender or full metal alchemist level but it's pretty close in my opinion.
