One of you amazing humans said that it seems like there is a curse going around first episodes of every season of this show. I am starting to believe it's true. We're late, VERY late, there is no denying and we are not looking for an excuse. We are sincerely sorry about this. Just for the sake of transparency, I wanted to explain what is going on.
So our transferred footage did not contain all files for external editor. He notified us early enough to mitigate this but the transfer kept failing and once it came through, the audio came out as empty file which he didn't know until he was ready to edit, so then he could not do his work in the editing time window he had available.
Suraj is on vacation with his family, and Nahid was helping with another emergency with FMAB (more transfer issues) before going to his eye appointment after which he was not available. At this point I think Micky's man bun is all grey from all this. Peaky Blinders 2x1 will be released tomorrow, no matter who edits it out.
Thanks again for your understanding. I know this blows. Just know we're doing what we can to get this edited.
