Season 4 is not that bad. It’s just not the best. Dan Harmon comes back for season 5 and 6 which are both great. This show has had like 4 series finales so don’t read to much into it.

The problem with Season 4 is that Dan Harmon was the show's emotional core, because the show was just representing his own thoughts and feelings. S4 has plenty of solid jokes and gags and you'll be fine, but it definitely feels like fan fiction in my opinion, because it's missing the darkness underneath the laughter

Please stick through Season 4, it completely course corrects once Dan Harmon is back in S5 and becomes extremely good again.

The dean doppleganger was the Moby impersonator from the celebrity impersonator episode. There was a moment in that episode where Chang looks at the Moby impersonator and does an equation in his head about replacing the dean with him.

It's funny, when Annie does her angry speech at Starburns funeral, she seems a lot more like Diane.

I hope you guys realise that while season 4 is the darkest timeline, Dan Harmon returns to helm Seasons 5 and 6. The show takes on a different identity at that point which I really enjoyed

The worst season of Community is still a season of Community - that's how I think about it. Still funny as heck even if it's not as good :p
