[Premium Access] My Hero Academia - 1x4 Start Line - Group Reaction

Izuku shows us what it takes to be a hero!  But at what cost?  He's got the quirk he's always wanted but how useful can he be if it literally breaks his body when he uses it?  It'll be interesting to see how he learns to control this quirk.

It's interesting ya'll dont comment on other shows when the female characters cry often but when a young boy does it you're so uncomfortable with it you feel the need to talk about it every time. Might be something you want to think about. Just saying...

You will learn not to take Best Jeanist lightly. Yeah, the name is a funny but...

Yuki Hayashi is a music god. He does the music for Haikyuu and a bunch of other shows that also have amazing soundtracks.

Exactly. It always annoys me when people say that a show that is full of tropes or cliches is automatically bad. Tropes and cliches aren't automatically bad, they're only bad when a show executes them poorly. MHA executes most, if not all of them, amazingly well. Unfortunately, there's a LOT more examples of poor execution of them than good, which is why they get a bad rap.

Izuku has 2 hidden quirks: 1. Pain Tolerance and 2. Crybaby tears. He loses most of the tears after this season.

godUsoland

I would be crying as well if I had just completely broken 3 of my limbs lol

Omar

No Kacchan has to beat them out of him

PS

I know this is said over and over, but my god is the music PERFECT. Especially for upcoming battles

I just wanted to point something out a lot of people laugh when All Might told him to clinch his butt cheeks but it’s actually a real response to a stimuli when in a fight or flight situation you instinctively clinch them to make you run faster or in Midoriya’s cause move through the air faster when he jumped it’s also been shown that people tend to clinch them when they’re in a predicament that they have no chance of escaping but decide to fight as it again it does increase your agility in a situation like this. Either way I thought it was a nice touch of realism along with the humor factor!

love the reactions from Nahid and Rana 10/10 but I was wondering if you could watch one episode in Jap and see how it is voice actors are amazing!!! Regardless love the reaction.

I watched the dub first & never got the impression that it was toxic chainsaw who gave him his injury. The way he worded it was fine imo.

guys, I wouldn´´´t consider this spoiler but still, have this comment checked first (this is really important info): In the second episode in the English dub there is a HORRIBLE misstranslation. When all might and izuku talk about his fight years ago, where he got the injury, in the dub they make it seem like it was toxic chainsaw the one that injured him. BUT, in the original language (anime AND manga) all might states clearly that toxic chainsaw was A PUNK that could have never damaged him. So no, it wasn´t toxic chainsaw who injured all might. That is just a horrible mistake in the dub.

Jjj.

Love the show and loved the reaction, but I will offer a point of clarification; All Might very explicitly stated that the villain Toxic Chainsaw was NOT the one who gave him his injuries. In fact, All Might said that he made sure that the fight that put him in his current condition was never made public knowledge. This was a really fun reaction, and I’m looking forward to the rest.

What a great group for this show. I like Suraj laughing at the silly moments and Nahid clapping when All Might goes all optimus prime father figure inspirational, and when Chris recognizes tropes you would absolutely hope someone with his anime resume would see. But Rana is my spirit reactor for this series so far. Her cheers and smiles and observations and occasional tears are exactly why I'm having so much fun re-watching this show along with you folks. MHA, for me, just executes so well that I can't help but get caught up in the emotion even if it's a well worn trope The musical themes hit me pretty hard too. Lot's of iterations and the show uses them very deliberately, worth paying attention to.

like 90% of his crying stops after the next 5ish episodes

He already doing it

Nahid's hype amazing, and I love how Midoriya doesn't just get OP instantly without a drawback. That's what made me love the show immediately, and the development will be amazing. His crying is kinda meant to be a flaw that contrasts with Bakugo's flaw, you'll see later!

Justin Neason

Cry baby. lol

I think everyone has to realize that season 1 focuses on Deku as a character and MHA in general is a series that is very emotional. So you'll have very emotional fights throughout, it won't just be bone breaking knuckle bleeding action. The show's critical acclaim comes from the way it's tied drama into it's plots. So you can't go on not expecting the show to be dramatic. I've noticed Chris keeps saying things like "This kid's so emotional" or "what a dramatic pause"...yes...he is emotional. It was a dramatic cause.

Chris is gonna be one of those guys that talks shit about Deku and the show in general i can already tell lmao EDIT: you guys forgot the aftercredit scene
