Eric Fact #61

Lots of people ask us about our equipment, so here's another amazing quality product.  Eric uses Audio Technica ATH-M50X headphones for editing and music!  Sound is super important.  What kind of headphones do you use and why?

Yea, open air headphones are cool for the right environment. Does a lot of the sound escape? I'd be worried it might annoy anyone else in the room. -Eric

I wanted a decent set of headphones with a mic (for gaming), so I have the Sennheiser PC-360 headphones; they're older now (there's some newer revision), but they have a rare feature I like: open air headphones. I have this weird phobia about sealed headphones and not hearing something important, so I wanted something where if I turn them down I can still hear my surroundings. They're great! I also have some Bose in-hear headphones for running with phone controls in the cord which are really great.

Haha, I wouldn't mind some awesome in-ears for when I'm out of the house but I'm always worried about losing them so I just have a $15 pair of Sony something-or-others that get the job done. -Eric

I have a pair as well. One of the good pieces in my headphones collection. Very good sound quality and they are comfortable enough if you don't mind a bit of weight. Definitely worth the money. I also have a pair of Shure 535 in-ear headphones, (which in fact I bought when we were visiting Japan!) it's a high-end product with amazing sound quality. It's pricy but one of the best sounding in-ear headphones out there. Yet, I tend to use it less and less because it feels very clunky. Putting it in my ears takes a significant effort and it feels like wearing a stethoscope :)
