Not sure when you went, but I'm pretty sure they have an electronic system now you have to swipe to get into. No matter, we just prefered to walk around anyways. -E

2018-10-05 06:29:10 +0000 UTCI never ended up paying for the vaporetto (water buses) past the first. I bought one ticket, no one ever checked it, and I never noticed most of the locals getting their tickets checked either. I just, didn't buy one and no one ever bothered to check. Now, this was only the more, local? route around Venice itself. Still had to pay for the other islands.
