Ok! 2020. Looking back on the list of videos we made over the past year it feels unreal, which I guess is expected considering these troubled times we find ourselves in. I think everyone feels a degree of "time going by super fast/slow / what day/week/month is it? / OMG what is going on?" symptoms so I won't bore you to death with that. Let's look back on what we were able to make over the year instead! By my calculations (totally possible I missed a video or two lol), we made 53 videos this year with a total playtime of 32 hours, 22 minutes and 8 seconds.
If you want a playlist to relive the entire year, here you go!

I'm curious if anyone has feedback about this past year, videos they liked, videos they didn't, things they'd like to see more or less of, etc. Any moments that stick out to you are always fun to think about too.
In addition to all of that, we got a lot of new gear this year, notably the new Sony A7Siii camera which among a zillion other things has moved our videos into 4K, which hopefully helps bring you along even more accurately and clearly than ever.
In December, we also finally set up a Twitch channel where we are spending some time hanging out and playing games. It's in no way intended as a replacement for content on Youtube, but more of a reason to sit down and just play some games together more often. Something about the Twitch streaming aspect makes us more focused on hanging out together than when one of us games and the other diddles around on other projects, it's an unexpected outcome of inviting other people along. So come chat, game and snek with us if you happen to be available (usually live in the evenings Japan time)! https://www.twitch.tv/kydeanderic
Looking forward to 2021: This year is a bit of a mystery for us, which is kind of exciting to be honest. Usually, we film a big trip over the winter break, but with the state of the world, we couldn't get out and do an international trip this year. We had plans to do something big domestically, but right as the winter break arrived so did a spike in COVID-19 cases, so we opted to just stay home. Therefore, we don't have tons of footage from an extended trip saved up, and will need to find creative ways to keep making content. This is absolutely going to be a challenge, but one that is making us think differently about how/what we create. Hopefully this will make our content feel a bit more fresh for those of you who have been with us for years. We filmed something a week ago that I'm stoked to share, for instance, and we probably would not have done it without these weird restrictions the world has placed on us all. So yea, this is usually the part of the yearly update where I have a plan of some sort to share, but I really have no idea what will be posted more than a couple weeks out at the moment. We are flying by the seats of our pants, as it were. I think a lot of people are.
Ok, I think that's about it! Thanks to everyone for keeping this project alive, we say it all the time, but we mean it: Without support here on Patreon, we wouldn't be making videos anymore. Our channel never struck it rich with the Youtube algorithms so we can't rely on ad revenue or sponsorships, we have you to thank for choosing to support our project and making this possible. And to be honest, I like not having to worry about sponsorships or staying "monetizable" or whatever, it lets us just keep making content that excites us and luckily that seems to line up with what you guys want to watch. Deep thanks for your support and looking forward to discovering together what 2021 will bring.

Guys,
Eric has pretty much covered everything, but there's one more thing I want to say.
I hope we were able to share as much fun with you as you were able to motivate us. I think that came out right, but if it didn't. What I'm trying to say is that this good thing we've got going made 2020 better than it could have been. A lot of people are saying "Thank goodness 2020 is over." I actually don't think that because we managed to find fun in little nooks and crannies of this pandemic thanks to all of you, and I hope that whenever you saw a video/pic/comment from us, got to tag along on an adventure or connected with us in any way that it brightened your 2020. I cherish this symbiosis and look forward to feeding into it more in 2021!
