I don't have hard data on this, but yes 10 miles can make a huge difference. It was a big revelation for me when I discovered that.

I know city light domes show for quite a distance and that it is always better at a dark site. My good dark sites are 1 to 2 hours away. I also know it is better to NOT shoot into the light dome. However, I often cannot travel very far. So, how far is far enough? I am on the north edge of probably a B6 or B7 or is it(C6 or C7?) For instance, does 10 miles make any difference? Thanks for your channel!
