Hi everyone!
I recently worked with MSI to participate in their Industrial Design Challenge. My goal was to create a new PC design that I'd like to see.
I went for this PC gaming backpack, complete with a stool, peripherals, and a visor-monitor!

I wanted to focus on the experience of using the design, rather than the technical aspects or physical function- since a real engineer would probably laugh at my attempt :D So I pulled in one of Maya’s default HIK rigged characters to help figure out the scale and sell the idea. Fun fact: Maya ships with a ton of built-in stuff to get you started; commercial-looking previs rigs like this, mocap data, simulation examples, base meshes for sculpting, etc. Just don’t try to use this very unappealing rig on your demo reel :P

Anyways, I recorded the whole creation process and MSI uploaded it as a tutorial on their YT channel! If you want to participate in their Industrial Design Challenge, the most creative ideas can win a fancy ‘Alessandro M x MSI’ corkscrew ;)
