It's terrifying how my opinion of Job Trunicht over the years has shifted from "this is a horribly scummy fictional character" to "this guy would absolutely win our presidential election". He's as cliche an evil politician as you get, even having his own little "Patriot Knight Core" to harass anyone he dislikes, yet he would fit so comfortably into modern American politics. I also love the monumental task they gave Yang, yet another sign of the desperation the Alliance has for a big propaganda victory. This episode doesn't tell you what Iserlohn is yet, but even attacking it with a full fleet would be very dumb. They gave Yang a brand new fleet, half the size of all the others, and then a 70-day limit to accomplish the task. It's insane. Mind you, the only reason there's a 70-day limit is because the chief of the navy's term ends in that amount of time and he wants to get a second term. It's all politics, using an artificially generated hero and a half-sized fleet made up of the remnants of the most recently defeated fleets. It's awful.
