Regarding the OS rewrite, the Gundam's base OS was likely an un-optimized beta version, she explicitly stated it was unfinished. A more accurate analogy would be using basic Linux distro, then just optimizing's & reconfiguring it to function the way you want it to. The action in of itself isn't that amazing, honestly not difficult if your willing to spend the time, it's the speed in which it was done, highlighting the processing abilities of coordinators.
