Personally, I think Almost isn’t good enough is more of a perfect introduction to her character.

I think she probably knows this, but it's more about her authority. She wants her crew to know that the dangerous currents and tides are the least of their concerns if they're on her bad side. This is how she rules, through fear.

Azula is a great villain. Like she's so intimidating and ruthless which makes her really scary. Her speech there about the tides is honestly a perfect introduction to her character.

Azula’s tides speech is not badass, it’s stupid. Azula is being childish and reckless. The tides will kill her too, same with the captain. I would like to see her fight the tides.
