Exactly. Those are the best villains, when you can understand where they're coming from. My middle daughter turned 9 today and that looks like about how old Jet was in his flash back to seeing his whole town burn and we know his parents died. So who took him in after that? Maybe someone, maybe no one, he never mentions anyone. I dunno but that's a huge trauma at that age. I likely wouldn't develop that kind of hate like he did but I get it as well.

2021-04-10 23:54:58 +0000 UTCI have a love/ hate relationship with Azula. I love how much of a well written Villan she is. By the end of the show we can see how much her parents messed her up, so we feel empathy her thinking she deserved an Iroh too

2021-04-08 22:27:39 +0000 UTCJet was 16 or 17 and Nickelodeon couldn't let them show a kid being killed so it was just sort of implied. Jet is a complicated person but since he was a kid who'd been so traumatized I feel nothing but empathy for him. It's interesting to me that he had such hatred for the fire nation but it was the earth nation that killed him.
