Weekly Update 10.16.17

Last week my wife asked me what I wanted to do for my birthday (Oct. 10th). I didn’t even have to think about it; steak dinner, visit the local escape room, and to work on my comic. A simple plan. We spent Monday evening hashing out the details.

Then the phone rang...

A family emergency (everyone’s fine) came up and we were on the road to Oregon to do what needed doing. We returned late Thursday, exhausted, but happy that everything turned out well (and that we got to see our neice). We began to plan some birthday fun for Friday.

Then my my wife got sick. Friday was spent making sure she was alright, and then I had to leave her by herself while I went to work on Saturday (that was hands down the worst part of my week). I returned to find that she had made birthday plans for Sunday. I told her to forget about it. We could postpone my birthday for a week or skip it all together. I just wanted the madness to end.

Then Sunday arrived...and it was awesome.

My wife felt better, we had friends over, we went to the local escape room. It was a blast! Everything went off without a hitch.

Bless my wife. Seriously. She is amazing. And she got me an awesome birthday gift…a stack of smooth Bristol board pads! My drawing surface of choice!

So…I got zero work done last week. But now, I have no excuses. I won’t have a comic posted today, sadly (maybe Tuesday or Wednesday), but I should have a bulletin board pic posted for you by tonight (I really like those).

Okay, back to work!
