Update

Hey guys, sorry for the late notice but there won't be a chapter this week. I'm almost done with chapter 18 but I think I'm going to keep this chapter as personal backlog rather than releasing it, as there's many aspects to it that I still need to consider or I want to sleep on. And in general my chapters come out more polished/thought out when I do that so it'll be nice to get one ahead.

I think I've covered most of what I have to say in previous posts so I'll keep this one short and sweet, but just to give an update on how things are going, I think I've found my groove with a one chapter/week schedule. I'd been meaning to write more than that but I think I was a little more burnt out than I gave myself credit for so I'm just going to keep writing at that rate for the foreseeable future. And I'm probably going to cap patreon at 5 chapters ahead for now as well and return to posting on RR next week as well.

Hope the cliff isn't too bad, but I'll cya then :)

Ayo, it feels bad to support a creator with rewards, only for those rewards to be reduced and delayed so soon. Do what ya gotta do, but I can't in my right mind support ya without tangible benefits.

Understandable Nick an dw it was easy to read

Yeah i gotta agree with the guy above me definitely feeling some buyer's remorse if i'm gonna be honest. Paying a 10 dollar membership for essentially only 4 chapters a month is already a pretty steep ask but then not even getting that is kinda wack.

I can understand that, when I pay for patron I always think of it as paying for what’s already out, rather then what they will upload, when the author says they intend the add an amount of chapters, I don’t count those as part of what I am getting, for exactly what happened to Ellesar Lore here, I don’t really have any money myself, in truth any luxury I take at this point feels outside my own budged, but it sounds like you are under more financial stress then me, or at least being forced to put more time into that area of life, I agree the promise was bad, but I don’t know the details of Ellesars, life outside what they have told us, and from that I was already predicting delays, the outcome of low chapter numbers sucks but in my case I gave my money with the intent to support a creator more then for the chapter promise, so maybe I was not thinking about it from other people’s perspective, if ya feel cheated by the author, then I can understand better having thought about it and seen your second comment, I was overly focused on my own information/perspective, and the desire to see the story grow it’s best, and less so on the author and other Patreon’s. I am not sure if there was a right choice and in the authors shoes I’d probably do what the author is, but ya if you made the deal with a student lifestyle, and were looking forward to a new pair weakly chapters then ya I can now see you were cheated a bit, ya good to type it I always worry about stuff like that being over interpreted, but that might be my autism taking control, don’t think I have ever not clarified any person to person communication without turning it onto a monologue. Any who thanks for reading my short story I wrote as a response. I have no clue how I’d respond to this of Gish galloping mess I just typed but no clue how to trim it on my phone so I’ll just stop typing here.

Yea I get you there I guess. Not like I didn't say that I understood that it's just a promise. AN i get it. But my point is that there was a cost associated with that promise, in terms of patreon. I'll take a word promise anyday, but as a student I'm pretty tight on motion and selectively choose what I want to support. This was already a bad decision financially for me, but now it's become an absolutely worthless one. I get his perspective, and I get yours. He is a new author, and it is just a promise. However, when the promise costs people something, that's completely different. There's responsibillity to uphold in that.

i can feel that, but a word is just that a word, and a promise is just there intent to follow though, in this situation there is not a lot Elessar Lore could do, writing's hard when you got the time and no audience, let alone a sense of perfection and the quality we have seen in recent chapter's, if getting one ahead helps Elessar Lore's chapters going ahead i think prioritizing that is better even if it leaves us a little out, i'd like both but thing's like that don't always work out, i might be a bit bias as i write myself, and am pretty enthralled in this story, but i think the mistake was in there judgment not the promise, or the outcome, the promise was bad judgment but ya can't know that stuff ahead of time, and the outcome of chapters coming out is not something a knew serialized author, will understand or even understand how badly they understand it, over all its not a good outcome but not something i am going to judge as poor conduct, we can only do up to our best and at least i rarely manage even that.

Ima keep it honest wit u mane cuz im not tryna keep on no false pretence like these guys. I been payed for acess cuz of the 2 chapters per week promise an I was ok with it being reduced to 1 chapter. Yk, I'm at least paying for something. But now, I'm getting outright nothin for my money. I get ur reasons, their understandable, but if you finna make a promise on royal road, it's your responsibillity to keep it regardless. Cuz u got people payin for this, an if it was free, I wouldn't be saying nun. But it's not free So, just reflect on that a bit. Responsibillity man

Thanks for the update! The cliff is brutal but I’ll take quality over a rushed chapter anyway

Sure Thing. Better find the right rhythm now which feels good and sustainable long term instead of having unhealthy sprints which take away the fun of writing this awesome novel!

The cliff is really bad but it's ok. Next chap should have the reforging and class, i'm really hyped. Or maybe you'll end it just before he gets a class. Hopefully you're not that devious
