Weekly Update 10.05.2020...

...We are back in business!

The next page is a little over 50% finished. Hope to have it done and posted tomorrow!

After a week of relaxing, checking in on family and taking care of my grandpa’s business stuff, I’m in a much better place and ready to get back to work! Thanks for all the kind words and support this past week and a half. It’s made a huge difference!

Looking back I actually accomplished a lot last week; I got some nice design sketches done, wrote and ran a Call of Cthulhu game and made some Lovecraftian props. Playing the game made a big difference as it was a fun distraction that kept me working. Gotta keep my hands busy.

This week I’m going to get the new page done (tomorrow?!) and get started on the next (already laid out). I also have two really nice sketches that should make lovely prints. I’ve been fighting it, but I think one of them will be in full color. I’ve never really trusted my coloring abilities. I know I can do it, but I’ve never been good at mixing and matching tones and values. Time to dig out the color wheel I guess. ^^;

Okay, lots to do this week, so let’s get to it! Have a great week everyone!

Practice makes perfect! You got this!

Glad to hear you're feeling better/in a better head space. Down time is important. I look forward to the coloring, you've been improving well! That one colored panel for GR was/still is fantastic!

Good points all around. Yeah, not thinking about what I needed to draw for a week was definitely refreshing (especially with the laundry list of unpleasantries that needed doing). Ready to get back to it. :)

Will do!

It's important to have such distractions, and limit how long to push one's self if any full-on marathons come up. A little time to yourself equals a lot of productivity afterwards. If you're unsure about your coloring, just let people know ahead of time that it's practice. The expectations when something's a known test are completely different if your audience is level headed. So far that appears to be the case with your followers.
