Weekly Update 12.10.2020...

Our journey of approx. 2650 miles and we all arrived safely! Well, sadly, Mel's pet lizard did not survive. At some point on the road their heater conked out. It was pretty upsetting, but Mel's doing good. We're going to find a nice quiet spot in the woods behind our building and bury him there.
Our friends Svet and Patrick came by and dropped off some extra essentials for us (laundry detergant and a broom) along with a Russian dessert called Sharlotka; a fruit pie with a dry, muffin like consistancy. Goes great with coffee.
Had a small computer scare as my laptop did not want to start up and when it finally did, the screen had scattered static. I figured this was just due to the extreme temperature change and that it just need to sit for a day or so. Started it up again this morning and it's working just fine, so I can finally get my wacom up and running!
Our travel cubes with all of our furniture should be arriving in the next day or so. Until then, we've got moving paperwork that needs to be filled out (moving from state to state is complicated) and extra cleaning and organizing to do. Oh yeah, and we're also under quarantine for the next 18 days, so delivery only. Svet gave us a list of some great restaurants as well as notes on the local customs. ;)
I've received a lot of messages this past week, and I intend to read every one of them. Thank you all for your pledges, well wishes, jokes and stories. They've made us all very happy during this crazy transition. Hope to have something to share with everyone in a few days. Hopefully we'll be back to our usual schedule next week!

Computer's are finicky and emotional devices and one day they can be working fine and the next day they just go nuts and ruin everything.
