Added 2021-05-12 12:39:22 +0000 UTCThis week on WIPWed I've finally binged the new Animaniacs series on Hulu and decided to draw some Warners.
I am of the age to have watched a lot of Animaniacs in my youth. I watched it vanilla, and when they spun Pinky and the Brain off into it's own show I was there for that, and when they spun it into a crossover show with Elmira (who remembers that? I hated that) but the original trio was always my favorite. The reboot is fun. You can tell the VAs have all aged but you can't hold that against them, it happens to all of us. I do miss the supporting cast, but maybe in the next season we'll get more appearances by legacy characters. We'll see. Yakko was always my favorite and he still is so that's fun. They tried to give the Warners a couple new dimensions in the reboot. Dot became an activist, Wakko became... well he was mostly food jokes wasn't he? and Yakko became cripplingly insecure veneered by comedy. So... #relatable to me at least!
Not sure yet what Dot's flag is. It'll probably end up being the WB logo, but what do you folks at home think? Votes for Toons? Pro First Man?
Update: I decided to just do the logo >< Here's the finished version to compare! There were a couple changes... Wakko needed a bigger tongue for starters, and there were some weird noodle arms that needed reigning in. Overall pretty straightforward for a simple character study.
