So against at least some of my judgment, I've decided to revisit Threadcaster again. I did a refresh not long ago when I released the special edition, but I've put off starting the sequel because I was nervous to go back and reread the original just in case it didn't hold up. My conclusion is that it does hold up, at least mostly. There are a couple things I want to tweak but nothing narrative-shaping. I've learned a lot about writing since I updated it, and some of the setting descriptions and character exchanges were "inelegant." I plan to release the new extra-spiffed version in hardback later after I have the sequel drafted. For now, though, here are my kids Cat and Peter again. I've drawn this picture a hundred times but I never get tired of it, and it has been a while, so I share the latest version of this picture with all of you.
