POLL: Fan Favorites 20 - International Diamonds in the Rough
Added 2023-10-22 19:45:37 +0000 UTC**UPDATE: I have uploaded a spreadsheet to this post that includes the list of all 17 tracks in this poll, their YouTube links, and info about each track (written by the individuals who submitted the tracks for inclusion in this month's Fan Favorites video). I am hoping that reading a bit about each of these artists will assist you in making your selections in this poll.
Hello everyone!
I'm excited to launch this poll for our 20th Fan Favorites Episode. This month, we are searching around the world for 'Diamonds in the Rough' whose location or musical style falls outside of North America or Western Europe.
These 17 tracks have made the cut for this poll. Here's a YOUTUBE PLAYLIST for your convenience, as I'm requesting that we at least sample these selections so that we can have an informed poll.
These options are presented in the order that they placed in the Discord round of voting.
Vote for your top 5! I'll end up listening to several songs in the video, depending on their length.
The poll is active through Friday, October 27. Happy Voting!

I voted for it but I think it fell short by 1 vote. Tri Martolod is a great song but probably it still sounded too "European". Alan Stivell was in my "shortlist" too for what to suggest, but it was a different song, Gwerz I from Symphonie Celtique, with the berber chanting by DjurDjura.

2023-10-26 20:17:13 +0000 UTCI've seen Hiromi a couple of times live. Just a phenomenal musician. She seems to get so much joy out of what she does. Sonicbloom was an amazing band.
