I swear I remember Flanders doing backing vocals, as she has done in the reformed group. That said, I no longer own physical copies of either album for liner notes, and the Wikipedia page is thin on that info. Though I believe you- that timeline makes sense. And I do remember Belica with Adler on keyboards.

A couple of thoughts on the Alkan piece- 1) I think he was trying to invent ragtime but juuust missed it, 2) In 1840, this must have seemed like absolute heresy!, 3) This piece sounds to me like an Adiemus piece with way too much echo effect. There, I said it.

Glad to see you checking out October Project - they may just be my favorite band from the 90's. Those 2 albums are both must-hears. One correction on the chat - the backing vocalist was Marina Belica (who also plays keyboards along with Emil Adler, who composed the music), she became the lead vocalist when they reformed (Julie Fanders was a non-performing member in the 90s - she was to OP what Keith Reid was to Procol Harum).
