Is the Death Penalty Cruel and Unusual Punishment? | Gregg v. Georgia (Supreme Court Briefs)
Added 2021-08-31 21:48:02 +0000 UTCThis one is actually a two-fer. Or, er...actually a sixer. No wait an eighter. Eight cases in one. But really, mostly Furman v. Georgia and Gregg v. Georgia. Admittedly, I didn't know much about the Supreme Court's interpretation of the 8th Amendment with regards to the death penalty much before researching for this video.
What other cases would you like to see me turn into a video? Remember, they have to be Supreme Court cases. ;)

Two wrongs don’t make a right and the thought of some innocent persons wrongful convicted being put to death before innocence can be determine is plain wrong. For those guilty, I think lifetime imprisonment is a harsher sentence and putting them to death is letting them off easy.

I'm not sure what your religious beliefs are, but I generally lean toward keep them alive to suffer through punishment. Plus, like you said, many innocent people do get put on death row, although apparently it's not as bad as it used to be.

2021-09-02 11:37:49 +0000 UTCIm mixed on the death penalty. some crimes os so hanious that it is warented and really our tax dollars shouldnt go to feeding people that reach that Jeffrey Dahmer class of evil. but at the same time my own conscience is tuged another way with the same argument. because in order to attempt the guilty and not innocent get exicuted death row inmates are the most expensive for the tax payer to care for racking up more then those in for life. in essence the victims no matter what are placed with the burden of caring for those that did them the most harm.
