History Teachers Look at Old History Textbooks

This one was literally months in the making. I recorded around 7 hours of footage and cut it down to 48 minutes.

I doubt this video actually does that well, but it was a labor of love. It's my first true historiography video, looking at the history of how we studied history, and through the lens of American history because of course! However, in this video, I just focused on the content. The historical events the books actually describe and how they describe them.

To narrow it down, I decided to focus on five events in American history:

1. The War of 1812

2. The main causes of the America Civil War

3. The presidency of Ulysses Grant (so not the stuff about when he was a general during the war)

4. The Philippine–American War

5. The Gulf of Tonkin incident

The results are somewhat surprising. I hope you enjoy it!

Well i learned i was tought diffrently as far as the cause of the Civil war, i was tought in elementary school that it was caused by slavery, and that was the only cause tought till highschool when the teacher would say Slavery wasnt the soul cause. but we had to spend a lot of focus on the cotton gen which was tide in with the industrial revolution were i got bored and had the lowest grade in history. I was never thought the Token Incident at all. and the only thing mentioned about Grant in class was that he was a incompadent president.
