A Brief History of the End of the World

One day, after stumbling upon the Pocket Guide to the Apocalypse: The Official Field Manual for the End of the World by Jason Boyett, I decided that I wanted to make this video. I'm also just fascinated about how many people trust other people who repeatedly get things wrong. I wanted to also make a video about con artists before the upcoming election, but I guess the video will have to do for now.

In other news, we made it back safely from Malaysia. I got a lot of great footage and decided to make a video out of that as well. Stay tuned!

Thank you for your continued support. :)

At almost 75 my end times are getting nearer but I don't think it's the end times. I think the US may be in decline as a world power though? Interesting video!

Eye of a hurricane...

That’s great. It starts with an earthquake. Birds and snakes and aeroplanes. Lenny Bruce is not afraid.

Rob Kandell

Yeah, I really should have mentioned Harold, too.

Mr. Beat

I remember around the time I was in high school, Harold Camping was the guy who kept predicting the end of the world. And every time it turned out to be wrong he would say that he forgot to carry the two or something, and that the real end times were six months from now. And then it still wouldn't happen.

Wikipedia did not list Isaac Newtons prediction.

I cant find anything online outside of wikipedia showing Luther predicting the end of the world. he feared the world would end in his lifetime but refused to name a year or date as he thought that was wrong.

Im a bit concerned that you inadvertently connected Eschatology with someone using modern observations to predict or foreshadow the end of the world. connecting Eschatology with that is not fair and even misleading. Eschatology focuses souly on biblical study's and draws from the view that you will not know when it will end. Even though there are those who do both eschatology and connecting modern events to the end times they are not inclusive of one another. My denomination doesn't do that for example.

Could you give me a source text out of the writings of Irenaeus, Julius Africanas, Hippolytus, Hilery of Poitiers, and Gregory of Tours. I have their writings on my bookshelf, and I really want to be able to check for myself.

Devin Canada

Ya know, I think you may be on to something

Mr. Beat

I feel like the world still did end in 2012. ...for the people who used the lingo "YOLO". Remember that? They all lived once like they lived by for saying that, and died. I'm not kidding that 12/21/2012 was literally the first day that NOBODY in my school said that word AGAIN. So, what if all the people who did say that actually died? 😳

Jesse Bakken

Well, we're not nothing. That's for sure.

Mr. Beat

humans sure are something

Sometimes these hucksters and charlatans will reverse engineer their claim... But the world did end, Mr. Beat. It had a spiritual end. Me: Oh, horseshit.
