St. Louis and Kansas City are the economic drivers of the state, yet they hold no political power thanks to the remaining areas being very conservative and it being less urbanized than Illinois. Income inequality has sadly only made our divisions worst. Inner cities and rural areas have both been neglected economically for a long time and should be united on at least economic issues.

The urban/rural divide in this country is real!also, this is a terrible idea While rural areas may not like the politics of urban areas, they would be screwed economically without them. Also, rural areas are over represented at the federal level thanks to gerrymandering and the senate.
