Good work team jordies, 20 years as mayor, 20 years 🤯. My mayor used the fact that her husband had a lustrous 35 career in roads, and the fact that it would take too long for new blood to learn the ropes to be an effective mayor, to get herself re-elected. I am not making this stuff up. I snagged her good and got her ranting about this on our recently created community board on facey 😜 We have the worst roads in the state. Our road infrastructure can not cope with the current demand and new developments springing up everywhere are only making it worse. All this from the same mayor who did a back room door with the O’Beids, and sold off a parcel of council land that our electorate was promised would never be sold.

You need to get a chalkboard like glenn beck.

In realpolitik in terms of the ruthless and cunning aspects of the parties, which surprisingly do exist in their think tanks, pollsters. and long term strategists, if not in their public figureheads who run for and hold the offices. There will be tactics of counter intelligence, espionage, and infiltration. The libs have the stronger arm in terms of corporate cash flows and truly the backers who wish to corruptly purchase the legislation they want will give their donations/bribes out selectively to moderate the Labor party and bring policy toward their will no matter which party is ruling. If you bribe both sides, then you can’t lose. And if you can throw a spanner in the works of the other team you will do so. I have no idea of any of the specifics and where those back room hands and daggers are deployed vs sheer ambition and stupidity ruling the day, but certainly the whispers and dollars were flowing to get Gillard to topple Rudd. Truly more and greater factors were at play in making that happen, but certainly some elements of discord and infighting occur due to these sorts of long standing pressures where Labor in name only libs in practice curtail Labor efforts. This along with undue attention and fixation is applied by the media towards the more left fringe elements of Labor and the greens, who get far far more press coverage than is warranted for how few seats they have. It is a simple and long standing practice to trip up your enemy.
