Patreon Update.

Hello Patrons.

Here on the friendlyjordies Patreon the primary benefit we give to you is the early political video every week. Until now we've billed per week or "per creation" like a newspaper subscription. However, Patreon is changing and we are required to switch from "per creation" or weekly billing, to monthly billing effective the 1st of November 2024. This means that every month you will have a consistent price for all of the benefits that we provide, and it won’t fluctuate based on the number of weekly early political videos (paid posts) that month.

While we knew these changes were coming, we were only told 20 hours ago that the deadline for us to inform you patrons of these changes is today, the 1st of October.

As you may recall from a few weeks ago. We've been looking at ways to revamp the Patreon and provide more benefits to you. We have also been expanding with staff behind the scenes to produce more videos. We had planned announce these changes and the Patreon revamp soon alongside several large investigative pieces.

These are all still happening, alongside that environmental legal fund we gave you a sneak peak of a few months ago and the runaway poll winner from a few hours ago (expect that on Friday). We just wished we could have given you a cleaner picture of the changes alongside some big news rather than this sudden post. We're really sorry this is how we need to get the message across, we'll give you a more definite video update before the changes take place.

Important information from Patreon:

Your membership will be converted from a “per creation” amount to a “monthly” amount, and you will remain on the same tier you are on and receive the same benefits.

If you applied a monthly maximum to the number of posts you pay for each month, this may result in a monthly membership that is lower than the new price of that tier. This price will be maintained as long as you continue to use your current payment method.

If you would like to make changes to your membership, it’s easy to modify the amount of membership within this tier or to switch to another one that we offer. Below are guides to help you do this:

Thanks for your understanding as we make this change. We wanted to inform all of our members now to provide plenty of time to make any adjustments before this takes effect on the 1st of November.

Final notes from us:

As stated in the information from Patreon, in total you won't be billed more than you are currently being billed in this change. However, you may not be on the same tier anymore due to monthly maximums you set. We were actually given the option to migrate patron tiers to a higher dollar amount by Patreon but we opted to reduce the amount. If you have any questions post them below.
