Ronnie O'Sullivan Fastest 147 in History

Comments

there was no prize.

I don't even like snooker but that is seriously impressive

James Aston

Some players take longer to take one shot than it took him to do this 147. He's incredible. He always plays this fast too, so his games are usually exciting, even if he isn't playing particularly well

Daz Parker

Ronnie once didn't pot the black on a 147 cos of how low the prize money was. He also plays left handed and right handed

Rayne

please watch Ronnie O'Sullivan: The Edge of Everything, an Amazon documentary movie how he is still the greatest player in history but how he battles with his demons,

lee

John virgo is doing the commentary, very recognisable voice

Nick Jarrett

Its only a game so you better believe im right, im gonna be snookering you tonight

This is the quickest but the best to to the circumstances you should react to is Stephen Hendry's 147 against Ronnie in 1997, it was in a final in the deciding frame to win the match and the title 9-8 , the two best players of all time, the title is "DECIDER O'Sullivan vs Hendry 1997 Victoria Charity Challenge"

Ronnie surely has to be the greatest sportsman of all time…any sport. Only recently he got two maximum 147’s in one match!

Aaron Page

Something not often pointed out is that despite winning this frame, he still had to win another frame to win the match!

Ronnie Cassinello

Sorry, bit of an essay that 🤣

It’s just perfect cue ball control. It probably takes players 10 minutes ish to make, but this is a record that will never be broken. There are more maximums these days, but they are all still very special. Ronnie very recently made 2 maximums in one tournament. There is kinda 3 avenues you can go down next. The low hanging fruit is to watch great shots from Ronnie O’Sullivan, or you can check out another 147 maximum (I’d like you to check out Shaun Murphy’s 147 at the snooker shootout as I was in the audience at the time). Or you can go down a different route and watch the final frame of the 1985 world snooker championship, which is thought to be the greatest world final of all time, and is the most watched post-midnight event in the UK. You can either watch the full frame, or there is a vid that starts from the final brown onwards.

Ronnie is the absolute best and I've been lucky enough to meet him a couple of times (my profile pic, also with the World Championship trophy), as well as see him play. He was really friendly on both occasions.

Phil Robbo

So astounding! I was on tenterhooks watching this. The skill it must take!

I really enjoyed this video. There is still no player anywhere near as good as Ronnie. He's a complex and enigmatic character, but when he's on form there's no-one like him. He gives the impression of not really caring about the game, which I think helps to take some of the pressure off him. I went to The Crucible to see the World Championship the last 2 years. It has a unique atmosphere.
