Chapter 272: The Offer
That offer came out of nowhere.
The Minotaur knight didn’t expect her to try swaying him her way.
Junk had always been loyal to the Witch Queen and no one else.
He had always felt like this was never going to change.
Umm…
“Am I a joke to you…”
It was never going to change.
“Um?” The Hourglass woman cocked her head.
“... I said… Am I a joke to you? How dare you try to make me give up on my Witch Queen? I am never going to betray September.”
His answer was clear.
“Then, I fucking what you to die…”
This was all she had to say to him…
Sweep!
The next moment, the mysterious Hourglass woman raised her right arm toward him and sand came out of her body, moving through the air and launching right at him.
When the overwhelming amount of sand hit him, the strange spell was so powerful that it sent him back, pushing him and making his life a misery.
“Ugh…” The Minotaur knight grunted, trying to avoid the attack and to prepare his counterattack, but the sand kept pushing him backward, closer toward the ruins of the shop the Hourglass woman destroyed earlier.
“JUNK!” June used the last remains of her strength to crawl closer to him, probably feeling like this could very well be the end for him, and she didn’t want him to die because of her cause.
Junk didn’t want to die, either, but he felt like there was nothing he could do. The sand kept pushing him more and more, and there was so much of it shrouding his face that breathing increasingly became something more difficult to do.
Breathing had become a privilege.
“JUNK, TAKE MY HAND!” June insisted.
“June…?”
He turned his head, slowly, as he was still struggling to fight off the deadly sand.
“TAKE MY HAND!” She insisted again as she reached out to him with her right hand.
He stared at her.
“What good would that do?” He asked her, not sure what she intended to do.
“TRUST ME!”
“Alright…”
He slowly reached out to her and took her hand, and then it was when everything changed!
A spark was created between the two as they touched hands.
Suddenly, Junk’s hand began to shine bright with an orange, fiery glow.
The palm of his hand had never felt warmer.
What does she have in mind? What is she doing to me? The hellish knight wondered.
Junk shut his eyes.
The orange bright light was so bright that it blinded him.
One second…
Two seconds…
Three seconds later, the Minotaur opened his eyes again to realize that his armor had changed ever so slightly.
It was the same as it was before, but it was a lot brighter than before. Instead of the primary color still being black, it was consumed by a blazing orange tone, instead. It was exactly like…
Am I on fire?
It truly felt like this.
“I’m… Lending you my… Summer powers…” June painfully admitted to him after transferring her energy to him.
Her… Summer powers? She’s lending them to me, but… Why? Why would she ever do something like that? Does she trust me enough to do this? Well, yes… She does because she has already done it. I felt a sudden surge go through my body—it was a powerful surge of energy. It was not any type of energy I was used to. So, this was what it was to be melting with Summer energy? It’s so… Different…
This is exactly what I need to defeat this bitch!
Junk re-opened his eyes, and then they began glowing even more than they did a few seconds ago when June first touched his palm with hers.
The Minotaur knight let go of her hand, and he slowly turned back to the Hourglass woman.
It was him and her.
“You look… Different…” The Hourglass woman observed.
“No kidding.”
“Well, June’s energy isn’t going to help you…”
However, right before she could even finish her sentence, the hellish knight had already disappeared. His opponent looked around for a second… Looking for him. For an entire second, she couldn’t see him and then the re-energized Minotaur abruptly reappeared in a flash of destruction, coming by her right, and exploiting her blind spot. She only saw him coming when it was too late for her to do anything!
“BULL CHARGE!”
Now, he was the one on the attack.
He charged at the spell-casting and dangerous woman, dashing at her with his horns and going through her. The Minotaur failed to do her any real damage, but this bull charge was more than enough to hurt her a bit to make her a lot more unstable.
For a short moment, the mysterious Hourglass woman wasn’t moving. She was stunned thanks to him, but the move he just performed was not exactly enough to defeat her.
“Not bad, not bad, at all…” She declared to him as she slowly turned toward him, with him being behind her now.
“Junk, use the Summer energy I just give you!” June shouted at him, urging him to do so.
“Right? So, this is not what I just did? So, how do I do that? How do I activate your Summer energy?” he cocked his head, confused.
“Roar.”
“What?”
“Roar!”
“What do you mean?”
“I said: SHOW ME YOUR BATTLE CRY!”
“Okay…”
…
The Minotaur knight readied himself into position and…
“ROOOOOAAAAAAARRR!” He finally mustered a loud and powerful Minotaur war cry, therefore, resulting in his entire body glowing with this orange bright light that was seen a little earlier.
“What…?” The Hourglass woman didn’t see that one coming…
“SUMMER BULL CHARGE!”
It was serious this time.
He rammed into her like the bull he was, except that this time, he did so in the fiery and brave Summer mode June helped him access.
“Impossible!”
It was possible.
This time, this Summer attack was going to be exactly what was needed to defeat her once and for all.
This time, when Junk charged through her, his horns went straight to her heart, penetrating it with the hot Summer magic until it stopped beating for good.
