However, with our children as old as they are, it has been a very long time since a kid walked into my office and said the equivalent of "I need 52 cupcakes and an asparagus suit for school tomorrow." So I guess we were due.
You see, the SATs are tomorrow and a graphing calculator was, if not strictly required, at least greatly desired. We have no such item in the house, and it turns out neither do most of our local stores late in the evening on a dark wet Tuesday night. I am very grateful to the people in the electronics department of the Greenwood Fred Meyer, who didn't have one but called around to find one, and the people in the corresponding department of the Ballard Fred Meyer, who did have one and saved it for us--and all this right before closing.
The graphing calculator in question was the only one in the store, and the batteries in the package were doing that creepy alien thing that old batteries do, oozing acid all over the place. They gave us a pack of nice batteries to go along with it. The kid fired it up and it's amazing how much it reminds me of my old Palm Pilot. It has all these little primitive apps. It's actually pretty neat.
Anyway, finally, here is the page. I spent most of the day rewriting the Kickstarter update that I forgot to post at the start of the month and didn't get that done either.
My adventures are banal.
