Things are in full circus mode here, as I try to finish what I can of the Kickstarter shipping while getting things together for the con. I'm finding a perverse sort of fun in the need for careful time management that I can only attribute to my love of video games. It's also satisfying to break the bigger jobs down into smaller jobs and finish "quests" as I go along.
I'll still be glad when the crunch is done.
Oh, and we've got yellowjackets in one of the outside walls, a problem that two separate bee experts have told me will resolve itself in the next two weeks or so, once the weather gets colder. The weather can get colder any time, a couple of them have got into the basement over the last week or so, and I've stopped using the back stairs because I don't want them to see me and decide to pick a fight. I've been encouraging the spider population of the basement all Summer in pursuit of allies against the clothes moth infestation, and now I'm very glad of it. Yellowjackets can be jerks. We actually had one get into the kitchen about a year ago, and while I and the younger kid stood around trying to figure out how to catch it under a glass, a spider popped out of the window frame, got visibly excited, danced around throwing out lines and caught the thing, then dragged it out of sight back into the window frame, all while we stood there like dolts. It was very impressive and we were very grateful. So the spiders get to stay.
Anyway, I'm off to get some stuff done! Phil is getting ahead with the story pages, so I should have some serious preview material for you soon.
Thanks, all!
