Girl Genius Comic for Monday, February 28, 2022

Edit: I'm lettering the page for March 2 page and noticed the error in "Luci" "Lucie" so I've fixed it. I went back and checked, I think this is the only place I did that, but I'll have to do a better look over before it goes to print.

I still have to put the music notes into the first panel. Right now I'm using my usual non-sparky fonty notes, but I think I want to maybe replace them with something artistic before we go to press with the print book. We'll see. I don't have music for Dr. Monahan drawn up at the moment, because I just started thinking about this. I don't quite want to use Agatha's spark music, I think each Spark would have their own "handwriting." It's something to think more about, anyway.

 Victor is currently playing "Going Under," a brilliant indy game he tells me was created here in Seattle. I am delighting in the corporate puns. I love the Joblins. 

I have spent days buried in tutorials, trying to learn about harmonization codes and best practices for shipping to the EU. The short answer at the moment seems to be for small indy companies to just not do it, which really isn't an option for me at the moment. It seems the laws got pretty draconian in 2021, and imports are getting heinously charged. Yikes.

I'm also falling down some really deep rabbit holes involving e-commerce sites and the ways they can all tie together. I've had to set aside all the new overwhelming information and just focus on getting all the Australia addresses ported over to ShipStation. I've got a couple of test shipments in the works and expect to hear back from their customer service on Monday. If they confirm that I've set things up correctly, the floodgates open and I spend the week packing and shipping. 

I also need to push the button on the next Kickstarter, but we find ourselves in need of a new printer, so we're waiting on price quotes from a few places. I can't be sure of the final cover price until I know how much they're going to cost, and I can't offer the book for sale or run a Kickstarter without a cover price and rough publication date, and so I wait. I hope it won't be much longer.

Also, I got word that the SCIENCE fobs have been shipped, so I expect them to arrive sometime soon, maybe even this week! I am so excited!

And that's all the news I have for now. Oh, and the book I'm reading is amazing. I keep stealing little reading moments and I'm about 2/3 of the way through. This is Plain Bad Heroines by Emily M. Danforth. After that I was going to go for Dune, but Patrick Rothfuss' The Slow Regard of Silent Things arrived, and although I'm really late to that party, I suspect I'll like it very much, so I'm going to do that one first.
