Attibute Panel: Evolution from an Artic Wolf

5 - Nature against nature

The cold was fierce and the sound of the howling wind could be heard from time to time under the ears of anyone living in this kind of climate. It is no surprise that this place is one of the most uninhabited places on the planet, no human without determination could live in such demanding conditions.

Life is not easy, in these types of conditions nature fights nature to survive this habitat that demands a supreme level of survival.

Luke knew that this was so, and precisely because of this he made the decision to strengthen his body and make the most of his growth potential. Only then could he come to reign in this place and help his herd grow stronger.

During his journey back to the cave, it took him a long time because carrying four rabbits in his mouth is not an easy thing to do. Luke even considered making two old ladies to carry the food back to the cave, but fearing that his trophies might be stolen, he decided to return with the four rabbits in his mouth.

...

Luke was facing the arctic rabbits inside the cave, the wolf pups were standing next to the wolf girl, clearly he had noticed the surprise in everyone's eyes, plus slight howls of admiration.

A wolf pack is extremely loyal, and their breed is known to be one of the most intelligent, but even if they have some intelligence, they can't compare to humans.

And it is because of that intelligence that Luke was able to find those rabbits and return to the cave, this was his safety and because he was willing to leave. Therefore, he could sense the surprise of his sister and the other cubs.

"Rrr!"

With a low growl, Luke grabbed a rabbit that was slightly oversized and tossed it in front of the puppies.

After all, this was the food Luke had caught and brought into the cave. If he didn't approve that his food could be eaten, I sense that the small wolves didn't dare come near it.

And indeed, now after getting Luke's permission, the little wolves began to eat the rabbit as if they were playing.

Especially the little lone wolf among them is the happiest to eat.

Even the lone wolf wanted to snatch the piece of food from a smaller wolf, which was seen by Luke, who was resting and recovering his state to the original one.

This kind of behavior cannot be accepted, especially when it is his own food that he offered to the pups in the pack to be shared. Standing up immediately, he raised his front paw and struck the lone wolf with force.

The blow sent the lone wolf rolling twice and Luke stood in front of him, "I won't let you!"

Roar!

Luke roar expressing his intentions, the anger could be heard in his roar.

This furious roar, as well as the great force caused by the blow from a moment ago, made the little lone wolf who stood up quickly admit his mistake with panic and howls of fear.

"Auu!"

The wild rules dictate that the weak fall prey to the strong, so the strong must be respected, which had been reflected well in the eyes of the lone wolf.

After the little lone wolf howled for a long time, it looked at Luke with a bit of resentment, and only after lying back down in the cave, the lone wolf carefully returned to the body of the arctic rabbit.

But this time, he did not dare to think about stealing other people's food, just nibbled a few bites of fresh meat and tiptoed back.

It can be seen that the little lone wolf that used to dominate among the wolf cubs has learned a lesson that would not be repeated again in front of Luke.

At the same time, there was also a trace of doubt in the fearful eyes. He didn't understand why a small wolf that couldn't even walk properly a month ago could defeat him so easily.

Much bigger than any other wolf cub.

Confusion was reflected in the lone wolf's small eyes.

But it was just that, he couldn't understand and no one had a way to communicate directly.

Even Luke if he found a way, it was unnecessary to try if he wanted to explain something that had no explanation.

He looked at the lone wolf walking away and thought, "That's good, they should gauge their temperament with the pack members."

The rabbit Luke shared with them was a carcass that weighed at least six kilos, this one he thought should be well above the common weight, so he thought it would be enough to feed the cubs.

The food was little, with half a kilo for each puppy at least they could fill their stomachs, this was enough for puppies that have little physical activity inside the cave. And after opening his eyes, he saw how the puppies that had finished eating were lying down with their stomachs swollen.

Luke made sure to keep the three remaining adult rabbits for the other members of the herd, of course he would prioritize their parents.

...

There was little sound in the cave, most of the pups were sleeping because of the food they had received, while Luke was still recovering.

Soon the sky began to darken.

The night in the Arctic is colder than the day and the wind keeps howling.

Their parents, and the other adult wolves dragged their exhausted bodies and returned step by step from the outside.

At this point, the mother wolf was not very unhappy.

Today is another day with very few results.

Not a single live prey was taken, only half of the seal that a single Polar had eaten was snatched.

The pack currently has eight adult Arctic wolves, three males and five females. Half a seal is far from enough to fill their stomachs, and even the physical effort they have put in today may not be able to compensate for the few gains they have made.

The adult wolves are worried, their pups are still hungry and await their return.

"Auuuu!"

At this thought, the female Wolf who was Luke's mother let out a somewhat annoyed howl.

If the pack kept going like this, no one would be able to manage to hold on for long.

It would be much better if it moved some distance to the south.

After all, there are still plenty of large herbivores like Arctic reindeer around.

But... It's too risky to move with so many cubs.

Besides, there are relatively more brown bears and polar bears there which complicates hunting in that area.

With the current strength of the wolves, they may be able to deal with one grizzly bear, but they can't deal with two at once.

So Mother Wolf has been hesitant and not just her, the whole pack.

But as the adult wolves approached the cave, they smelled a strong odor of blood.

And there are only a few wolf pups from the wolf pack in the cave.

"Auuuu!"

"Owuu!"

Two loud howls roared in the surroundings with a saddened tone, immediately after that the whole pack reacted, the mother wolf, father wolf and several adult wolves whose pups were in the cave moved quickly.

Roar!

As the leader wolf of the pack, Luke's father roared with a strong killing intent...

The few wolf pups hiding in the cave, sated and lying down, couldn't help but sit up when they heard the familiar roar.

Luke was no exception.

"My parents encountered an enemy?" Luke quickly got up and ran toward the cave entrance.

Roar!

With a strength and speed of over 60, the father wolf jumped straight out of the hole and his white wolf claws hit the ground, splashing some broken stones.

Luke who was about to reach the exit of the cave looked at his father who had jumped out, his face was incredibly terrifying and he was even more surprised to discover that there was no enemy of any kind, standing still.

"What's supposed to be happening?"

Luke was dumbfounded, and his sister and the wolf girl behind him were even more so.

A few seconds later, the rest of the wolves came running in as well.

They scanned the cave and, after discovering that the pups were safe and sound, everyone's fur slowly calmed down.

Rrrr!

The mother wolf let out a low growl stuck out her tongue and licked Luke non-stop because he was the closest to the exit.

Good thing everyone is okay!

But where was the strong smell of blood coming from in the cave?

"Ow!"

Luke roughly guessed the reason why the mother wolf and father wolf were furious at the moment. Because of this, he let out a low growl and then pulled the three remaining arctic rabbits out of the cave.

The mother wolf approached the arctic rabbit and sniffed it.

Huh, fresh? Did the strong smell of blood come from here just now?

But where did this food come from? Is the arctic hare so easy to catch?

Could it be that the imperative pup caught it?

The mother wolf turned her head to look at Luke with a puzzled expression.

"Ow!" Luke hit the ground twice with his paw and puffed out his chest.

Mother, your son is strong!

At this moment, the mother wolf and father wolf were in no hurry to eat the corpses of the three rabbits.

On the one hand, the three arctic rabbit cubs are good enough for the mother wolf to eat, but if shared, the dresser would surely be insufficient.

On the other hand, a pair of male wolf eyes looked at Luke curiously.

This is a one-month-old wolf pup, and he can already hunt arctic rabbits on his own?

Do wolf pups grow up that fast now?

No, they can't all grow like that. If some more time passes, will Luke outgrow them?

Obviously, the eyes of several wolves in the wolf pack looking at Luke changed.

Rrrr!

Mother Wolf let out a low growl and was the first to look away.

After all, this is a child she herself gave birth to, and even though she is shocked, she is proud.

Luke watched as his mother picked up one of the smaller rabbits on the ground.

All the wolf cubs expressed that they were already full, including Luke so his father threw the remaining rabbits to the female wolves in the pack.

As for the male wolves, they had already eaten from the seal, so they all quietly returned to their original positions in the cave and fell asleep on their stomachs.

After all, sleeping is the most energy-saving thing to do.

"Communication is a real problem..." Luke muttered as he relaxed his body.
