Attibute Panel: Evolution from an Artic Wolf

43 - Between ice and snow

After eating a little less than six kilograms of female brown bear meat, Luke only felt a little full.

With his passive healing, his strength was recovering at a great speed.

Today, his strength had improved greatly compared to before. With this, Luke was aware that he was one step closer to becoming the supreme lord of the Arctic continent.

After finishing eating, Luke returned to his usual place to keep watch over the cave entrance from a safe distance.

After a while, Anie was satisfied and walked over to Luke's side, then hit Ardad's forehead with her tail.

This pair of wolves had a close relationship because when Ardad was born, Anie was always nearby, and she, as a curious wolf, was always by Ardad's side.

And although their IQs were low, they both knew they could trust each other.

Rrrr!

Luke growled quietly so that everyone would rest in silence, which they all understood and after some small games, they found their corner to sleep without bothering anyone.

Ondina, on the other hand, looked for her big brother and fell asleep next to him, as his thick fur provided her with a lot of warmth.

This is called hibernation, something that wolves and any other creature do in winter seasons, although here in the Arctic, it is done at this time when the light disappears and the cold increases.

All that is needed is to gather food in summer and hibernate in winter.

This makes the polar night on the Arctic continent even quieter.

...

The next day, Luke, who was sleeping in the deepest cave of his home, saw that the dark place was getting better and better for sleeping. After a while, Luke had completely stripped the skin of the brown bear and now it was drying at the entrance of the cave, providing a perfect bed where many wanted to sleep.

Sometimes, some wolves slept next to him, which he certainly didn't mind. He simply got up and walked towards the cave entrance.

Everyone was inexperienced and surviving in this type of environment with little experience was just going out to die, so Luke only limited himself to taking Baxter and leaving the care of the entrance to Anie.

Baxter immediately followed Luke as he headed towards the cave exit. The night was dark and silent, without the presence of any bird in the night sky.

After waking up, Luke prepared to go hunting, although there was enough food in the cave for common wolves, so he didn't need to hunt so frequently. But before all this, he was interested in seeing the combat capabilities of his wolf pack.

However, his wolf sister and Ardad were still in the rapid growth period and needed to eat more to grow. Ondina and Anie would also benefit from the abundance of food, as they could improve their strength more quickly.

Luke was particularly ambitious and knew that only by devouring everything that crossed his path could he achieve faster evolution and become stronger. Baxter, however, had no complaints about Luke's orders.

Later, when Luke was on guard duty at the entrance of the cave, the other wolves inside began to wake up. The small gray wolf Ardad, his sister Ondina, and Anie got up one after another to join the watch. Resting during his shift, Luke took the opportunity to check his own strength, aware that only through evolution could he become stronger.

Thus, the night passed quietly in the wolf cave as they prepared to face the challenges that the future held for them.

Among all the wolves, Anie's strength, which was level 3, was mediocre. In confrontations, Luke didn't need much strength to handle her. During the training, Luke also showed what some fighting skills would look like.

Ondina and Ardad, although their bodies were almost the same size, since Luke let Ardad go out to see Baxter as the leader, she thought he would have more experience.

And as he feared, Ondina's performance was a little bad, not so good, and that was something that worried Luke.

Among the male wolves, Ardad was the one who felt the most pressure when he looked at Baxter and then at Luke. His fighting style was perfect, and Luke estimated that he only needed to keep growing and increase his strength.

"Grrr!" Ardad let out a low growl. Then, with his front right paw, he struck Ondina and she took two steps back.

Then he took advantage of the situation and pounced forward without giving Ondina time to react.

Attack the throat!

The tendons!

In no time, Ondina was subdued by Ardad.

These little practices were done without causing damage to their opponents, so there was no blood or injuries. Luke even saw that many were having fun, thinking that maybe this was a game.

Ondina was very sad about losing.

"Awaw!"

After throwing a tantrum, she howled at her brother. This made Ardad immediately release Ondina and look at Luke while wagging his tail with a marked smile on his gray face.

Ardad was not stupid, he knew clearly that Ondina was Luke's sister, so he certainly always tried not to bother her too much.

But Luke ignored his younger sister's tantrum, his eyes only shining slightly in the darkness, looking outside right now.

There was a storm of nine outside and it was increasing more and more.

The sound of the cold wind blowing overwhelmed the low howl of Ondina and the others.

Ondina saw how her brother ignored her, so she ran towards him to bite him and then saw Ardad with eyes full of anger.

Obviously, she had defeated him before, so why was today so different?

Luke just wagged his tail and his sister sat down. Then she ran towards Ardad without accepting her defeat and they started to fight.

Two little wolves fought for a long time.

From the beginning, Ondina was no match for Ardad at all, but gradually she regained the situation.

Little by little, the situation changed.

Ondina had also taken a potion where her stats had improved and her body had also grown. Therefore, she was really not far behind Ardad's strength.

Luke watched this fun program in his boring life as the pack leader.

After everyone was panting and out of breath, Luke signaled for them to rest.

After that, Anie took them to eat.

The energy consumed must be restored in some way.

Baxter, who was next to Luke, followed him after there seemed to be some light in the sky.

Under the snowstorm, Luke and Baxter's eyes shone in the darkness.

Now the Arctic continent is very quiet, and with the few wheels outside, even predators trust to sleep peacefully.

Unless they are very hungry, they will go out to hunt.

But Luke didn't think like a predator, he was a human, and by the way, the food stored in the cave never ceased to be enough. Also, he had trained the wolves to do their business in a specific place so that later it could be easily removed from the cave and dried.

Those are Luke's things, of course. Too much time to think is too much time to smell.

And now, with his current strength, as long as he doesn't encounter strong predators unprepared, he wouldn't really have opponents who could endanger him.

But unfortunately, this time they only found some lemmings on the way.

Even the arctic rabbits that are common in daily life seem to have disappeared.

Lemmings reproduce extremely fast and are never picky about food, they eat almost anything.

Therefore, even in the Arctic cold, under the harsh environment of the polar night, many lemmings remain active.

Crack.

The swift Baxter killed seven or eight lemmings.

After his successful hunt, he brought all the corpses in front of Luke. But Luke didn't want to take away the prey that Baxter had hunted, so he let him eat whatever he wanted.

The quality of lemming meat is not good and the evolutionary point value it obtains has been reduced to 0.1.

Therefore, if he's not hungry, the urge to eat is really nil.

"Ahwooooo!"

Baxter, seeing that Luke didn't want to eat, howled a bit and ate on his own.
