56 - Luke's Strength


Luke wasted no time and went to a large spot in the cave with the intention of digging a hole to plant the seeds from the fruits of a cold tree, with the intention of having a tree in the future inside the cave.

But not long after his sister approached his side, she could smell something strange so she began to sniff it intensely. And needless to say, it smelled like other wolves. Ondina could pick up the scent of their mother, a scent she would never forget since she had slept in her mother's arms all the time before leaving the cave with her brother.

She was surprised and jumping around Luke, so he saw her restlessness and told her that he went to visit their parents.

What Airon meant while he was digging a hole was transmitted to everyone in the pack, except for Ondina who wasn't very intelligent and didn't understand it very well. 

She only knew that her older brother went to see their parents. This made her stroke Luke's hair, who at this moment was digging a large hole in the ground. By the time Luke thought his sister had lost interest, she started to howl and said she wanted to see her mother. Ondina wasn't really prepared to leave her mother, so she missed her a lot.

Luke stretched out his paw and touched Ondina's head, indicating to her that he would take her the next time he went to visit their parents. He wasn't focused on his sister, but was looking at those magic fruit seeds that he had found.

"[This is a magical ice fruit seed that grows in snowy and icy landscapes in the Arctic. This magical fruit is oval-shaped and is covered with sparkling ice crystals that would shine like small blue suns!"

"Would you like to use an evolution and growth potion on the seeds?]"

When Luke discovered this option, his eyes shone in an unknown way and he immediately thought about what would happen if he accepted. Looking at the cave, it was high enough for a peach tree to grow without any problem, but what worried him were the roots of the tree and if they would affect the cave in any way.

But seeing that all the conditions were in place for this tree to grow, he decided to use two potions that he had. "Well, I hope this makes it grow faster..."

After thinking about it, Luke agreed and after using the two potions that he had, he started to cover that hole with ice, snow and dirt.

Luke then looked at his sister, who was very excited to visit their mother. Ondina was over level 2, and with this strength, she could already be compared to one- to two-year-old puppies among common wolves. However, her growth must be regular since no one is like Luke with an evolutionary attribute panel.

Ondina missed her mother a lot and feeling that scent on Luke's body, Ondina was really happy. Therefore, he decided to take her with him to see his parents next time. But in these times, it would be better to rest and regain their strength.

"Rrr!" Luke indicated to his sister to calm down as he was about to sleep. This made Ondina calm down as well. But she still walked next to her brother and gradually closed her eyes. Smelling the familiar scent of her mother really calmed her.

The next morning, after Luke woke up, he stood in front of the entrance of the cave and looked outside. Feeling this longing sensation, he unconsciously howled under the cold wind of the polar night.

Outside the cave, the sound of a powerful arctic wolf was heard resonating all around.

After that slight pause of the wolf, Luke went out of the cave to keep watch over the surroundings and scare away any kind of predator that might be nearby. The cold wind was already indifferent to him with his long and thick fur covering his body.

When he returned, he saw some wolves still sleeping peacefully as if nothing mattered to them. Fortunately, Anie was still covering her role as guardian of the cave entrance when Luke and Baxter were not there, after all, she was the third strongest wolf in Luke's pack.

This made Luke more at ease, but even though it didn't seem like it, the pack he leads is constantly becoming very powerful, and especially Baxter, who was an awakened beast that Luke didn't know the origin of.

However, after all this time, Luke decided to check his stats and see how close or far he was from level 7.

But Luke wasn't interested in that. Thinking about more important things, Luke gave the signal for everyone to come and eat.

In his cave, which was getting bigger every day as each wolf was opening their own personal space, just as Luke was doing in the back cave, the food reserves were incredibly large.

Taking this into account, Luke had made a cave below to store food and dissipate some of the scent it gave off outside. It was known that the only reason wolves tried to keep their food out of the cave was because of exposure to other predator scents.

This time Luke had implemented a process for older food to be eaten and new food reserved for later. Although this didn't matter as the meat freezes anyway, as a human Luke didn't allow two things: old food and wolves defecating inside the cave.

The roots that were drilling into the mountain soon reached a place where there was a hollow opening, and the roots of the seeds soon began to glow, showing the magic of that hidden cave in the mountain where Luke and his pack lived.
