Hunter, Don't Shoot My Friend

Chapter 104: An Oath

"Arghhhh!!!"

Boom!

Ethan crashed once again into a structure, gripping the demon's neck tightly as it thrashed about like a rabid beast.

"Do you feel fear now?" Ethan stood up, with visible scratches on his face and open wounds on his head, but the fire in his eyes remained unquenched. Soon, those wounds were healed, leaving no trace behind.

He didn't want to engage in a bitter fight with this powerful demon, but he needed to buy time for the exorcists to complete the sealing preparations.

In an instant, Ethan appeared next to the demon and stabbed it deeply in the back, but the wound wasn't as deep as he had hoped, given the demon's strong physique.

"Argh!!!" The demon roared in pain, but at the same time, a burst of air expelled everything around it, including Anton, who was nearby.

Ethan was forced back by the blast, his right hand holding a glowing sword, digging into the ground to resist the violent winds that dragged him along. Using all his strength, he raised his hand, and darkness began to gather around him as he prepared for his next attack.

"Whether demons or fallen angels, anyone with evil in their heart must die by my hand... as long as I have not yet retired." Ethan remained unfazed by the chaos around him, focusing intently on the figure staring back at him.

Crack!

At that moment, something sharp aimed for his neck, but he reacted quickly, raising his hand to block it with force.

Fresh blood covered Ethan's face and dripped down his cheeks, temporarily blinding him.

With his vision compromised, Ethan panicked and quickly unleashed a burst of darkness, forcefully pushing everything in front of him.

In that moment, his only thought was to prevent the demon from having any chance to attack the exorcists, who were still preparing the seal to imprison it.

With that thought driving him, Ethan rose and charged once more at the towering three-meter demon.

The sound of metal cutting through flesh echoed clearly, giving him a sense of progress.

After delivering numerous strikes to the demon's body, Ethan finally saw it retreating.

Random cuts would only cause superficial wounds, so he focused on severing its right arm by repeatedly striking the same spot.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

Attacking in the same area, Ethan continued advancing, but just as he was about to sever the arm, a powerful blow landed on his stomach.

Boom!

Ethan was thrown into a pile of debris, collapsing with no chance of getting up as quickly as before.

"I'm going to kill you..." The demon walked toward Ethan and lifted him by his suit.

Ethan had heard this threat over and over. To him, it was like a dead part of him resurfacing, so he paid little attention to it.

"You have no idea..." Ethan gripped the massive claw that held him, and the blood flowing from his divine hand began to burn the demon's arm.

Soon, he regained part of his vision, and with his left hand, now shrouded in darkness, he formed a long dagger that the demon did not notice.

"Ahhhhh!"

In an instant, Ethan raised his right hand and, using thousands of points of faith, drove the dark dagger into the demon's body.

"Arghhh!!!"

Amon roared in fury, glaring at Ethan with resentment. But, knowing he was losing strength, Amon hurled him toward where the exorcists and agents stood.

"Is he dead?" Ethan slowly lifted his back, trying to see what was happening in front of him, but at that moment, a hand gripped his throat tightly and hoisted him off the ground.

"Terry, what are you doing?" Ethan, staring at Terry with a confused gaze, furrowed his brow as Terry tightened his grip around his neck.

Terry smiled at Ethan's weakness and said, "You failed, just like you failed to meet your goals in your past life... Now die like the miserable dog you are!"
