Hunter, Don't Shoot My Friend

Chapter 108: Chaos Erupts in the Town

"Fire!"

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The horde of vampires rushing at them numbered in the hundreds. Many couldn't understand why the vampires attacked head-on, knowing the outcome would always be the same.

"Ahhhhh!"

Ethan watched as the group defending themselves fought off the attackers. His focus, however, wasn’t on the crowd but rather on a dark figure that stood out among the others. As he scanned his surroundings, he noticed a menacing presence observing him from the rooftop of a building. Spotting this, Anton tied a scarf around his neck and said, "Liam, I’ve located the main dark entity. I’m going to eliminate it."

"Do you need backup?" Austin asked, determined to join him.

But Ethan declined. Someone had to command the attack force, and he decided it would be him. So he set off alone to confront the dark figure.

"Stay sharp."

Liam nodded in agreement. Orders from a regent could not be questioned. Following the ancient rules, he obeyed Ethan without hesitation.

"Move out!" Liam yelled as Ethan diverted towards the building.

"Help me! Please don’t let me die!" A woman's voice rang out from the right, where Rafael was fighting off people now possessed by demons.

Liam was shocked when he saw a woman running towards them.

He quickly sprinted in her direction, firing several shots at the man pursuing her.

The bullets pierced the man's chest, and with an amused expression, he collapsed shortly after.

"Ahhhhhh!"

Just as Liam moved to take another step, an agile figure suddenly appeared nearby, killing one of the agents in a sneak attack.

Witnessing this scene, Liam felt his blood run cold.

He knew everyone could die somehow, but after personally training all these agents, watching them die was far worse than getting injured himself.

As Liam prepared to fire, the vampire stood in front of the collapsed woman. Liam now realized he had fallen into a trap. If he shot now, he'd not only kill the demon but also the woman, who wasn’t possessed.

It was a checkmate from the start.

Liam could smell the stench of decay in the air.

A shiver ran down his spine, but he also felt a warm sensation rising in his forehead and chest—an energy protecting him from evil.

It was the superhero serum Ethan had given him and the other agents.

That feeling kept the captains sane. Killing so many people was torture for anyone's will, but something else shone within them: duty. They knew if they didn’t stop this, others would have to. Quitting now would be ridiculous.

Liam, like the others, wasn’t about to give up.

In close combat, Liam didn’t want to take any chances. He quickly drew the knife from his waist and locked eyes with the demon approaching, joined by another that had emerged from behind.

His heart pounded faster, fighting to give him a way out of this fight unharmed.

One of the demons smirked.

His laughter was full of mockery and irony.

Liam had seen too many demons possess human bodies to be scared. He knew these dark creatures were the exact opposite of ethical and moral behavior.

The number of darker entities, worse than these, had grown so large that Liam had long stopped counting.

But that didn’t matter. He would eliminate these demons and every other one he would face.

"Argh!"

Liam rushed forward at explosive speed, charging at the first demon, whose attention had shifted to the woman on the ground.

In one swift move, his dagger pierced the vampire, bypassing his ribs and plunging straight into his heart.

Oohhh!

The vampire, now realizing Liam was upon him, looked down just as Liam withdrew the knife, causing black, hot blood to spill from the wound—a common trait of vampires and demons.

The blood splattered on Liam's face, but there was no time to worry. If he didn’t act fast, the other demon would attack.

Without pausing, Liam charged at the second demon.

"Argggh!"

Liam let out a fierce roar, using all his strength to hurl the body of the first demon as a shield to block attacks from the distance.

By the time the second demon realized what was happening, it was too late. Liam was already in front of him, driving his knife into the demon's throat.

"Watch out!"

A soldier arrived just in time to eliminate more demons emerging from other places.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

"There are more over here; shoot them!"

Boom!

Amid the chaos, Liam approached the woman, handing her a cross to protect her from the vampires.

"Keep pushing forward!"

On the other side of the building, Ethan sprinted up the stairs at inhuman speed. Upon reaching the rooftop, he found a man dressed in black, with two long horns protruding from his head.

"I’ve got you." Ethan aimed his gun at the demon, who seemed to enjoy the chaos unfolding around him.

With glowing red eyes, the two-meter-tall demon looked at Ethan and said, "Ah, so you’ve come, little hunter. We’re going to have so much fun."
