 Chapter 109: Extermination

On the rooftop of a building no more than three stories high, Ethan didn't respond to the demon. He was determined to kill it, so there was no need to engage with it. He had never done so before, and now was certainly not the time for conversation when hundreds of people were dying because of this demon.

"My name is Akaza, the one responsible for all your troubles and the one who took pity on a human seeking revenge against you. A human who is just as much a monster as our kind."

Ethan cleaned his sword from the previous demon he had sealed.

"Have you seen it? Humans against humans—what a horrible way to kill your own kind... Deep down, you know you could have saved them. What stopped you?" Akaza, with his crimson eyes, stared at Ethan with a provocative expression.

His intention was clear: to damage Ethan’s emotional state. But that wasn’t going to happen—Ethan had gone through too much to let his emotions hinder his ability to think.

"Do you think you’re special in my eyes?" Ethan asked, catching Akaza's attention. "In my eyes, you're just another demon I must eliminate. You're nothing more than an annoying creature I have the duty to kill so that my agents can stop suffering so much down there."

"Do you think I'm afraid? I am—"

Bang! Bang!

The rooftop scene quickly turned into a sea of bullets raining down on Akaza’s body before he could even finish introducing himself.

The bullets struck the walls and wooden items in the corner of the rooftop.

Debris flew everywhere due to the high power of the shotgun shells.

However, even before Ethan had started firing, Akaza had already moved to avoid being hit.

He had to thank Ethan for this—now he didn’t have to waste time talking to someone who wasn’t worth it in his eyes.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Ethan stepped forward without any fear. His shots were precise, but the only problem was that he couldn’t aim where the target was; he had to aim where he thought it would be seconds later.

The speed this demon displayed was admirable. Ethan had never seen someone as fast as Akaza before, something that surprised him greatly.

As he had expected a minute ago, the bullets were not very effective in causing damage to this demon. Ethan was desperate to kill him, but he knew that rushing would only bring more problems.

Even though he had the advantage of firepower, there were other ways to harm this demon, who was merely dodging the shotgun bullets.

At that moment, Akaza backed against the wall and took a deep breath as he moved side to side, trying to avoid any shots. But suddenly, a silver powder flew like a shining mist.

There was no escape!

Ethan seized the moment to fire the last shell in his sawed-off shotgun, but in the blink of an eye, the demon appeared right in front of him.

Bang!

"How?"

Crack!

When Ethan felt something coming toward his chest, he lifted the shotgun to shield himself. The blow was deflected, but the shotgun in his hands broke in half.

The last shell he had fired missed its target.

In fact, if Akaza hadn’t rushed toward him, Ethan might have landed a precise shot.

But, as he had anticipated, killing this demon wasn’t going to be easy at all.

Even in close combat, Ethan could feel that Akaza’s strength was something to fear, and if he let his guard down, the demon could rip his heart out.

After cushioning the blow, Ethan took the opportunity to step back. In the process, he dropped his shotgun and quickly drew his pistol, reacting with incredible speed.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

A series of powerful shots echoed across the rooftop. Due to the high caliber of the weapon, the shots were incredibly loud.

"Argh!!!"

Akaza stepped back and looked at the wound on his leg. Black blood began to pour from the injury, causing his face to contort in rage.

"I'll kill you, little hunter!"

Ethan's expression didn’t change, and without saying a word, he raised his pistol and pulled the trigger several times.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Three shots rang out with force.

Two of the first shots hit the back wall, but one managed to strike Akaza's hand.

"I'll kill you with my own hands!" Akaza appeared at Ethan’s side and attacked him with a powerful kick to the stomach.

Ethan barely had time to react, so he took the hit, trying to minimize the damage as much as possible to get back into the fight quickly.

Boom!

But in that moment, when the demon looked down, he saw a grenade that exploded in his face, blowing apart a large portion of his body.

"Ahhhh!"

"How dare you, you filthy human?"

Crack! Crack! Crack!

In the darkness of the smoke, Ethan heard several bone-crunching sounds, and as the smoke began to clear, his eyes widened at the sight of a monstrous figure.

"I’ll kill you!" Akaza, who had revealed his true form, glared at Ethan with his four eyes, his body now possibly four meters tall, with a massive tail dragging across the ground.
