Hunter, Don't Shoot My Friend

Chapter 118: A Piece of Advice

Ethan was a beast, fiercely driven to leave the competition for territory, but he knew perfectly well that he couldn't do it, so he lived bitterly because of it.

The people who would die from the influence of dark entities are the ones who would suffer the most later on. Perhaps that comforted Ethan a little, knowing that his ideas, which were taken and not used, were the only way to push the world forward.

"Do you smoke?"

Ethan looked at Chris and shook his head. "I relieve stress in other ways, but if you can handle situations like this by smoking, I guess that's even better."

"Yeah..." Chris had approached Ethan to thank him for not stripping his family of the prestige they had as hunters.

But after a few minutes, he couldn’t bring himself to do it. This man had killed his father and sister, whom his daughter loved dearly. No matter their sins, he couldn't ignore the bloodshed.

"Chris, you probably hate me for treating your family this way, but believe me, it's not personal. None of this is. I'm just trying to build the force that the Light Association has asked of me."

"How long do you think this facade will last?"

"Not much longer. They're asking me to create a special force, so they're expecting an attack they won't be able to contain quietly. However, this is something many have been waiting for a long time."

"I'm not going to keep going with all this." Chris wanted to dedicate more time to his family.

Ethan respected that, but he still gave him some advice: "Prepare your daughter for this world. I'm sure that in a few more years, everything will gradually come to light."

"I don't know; I want her to live a normal life."

"According to my sources, your daughter is seeing a young man who was bitten by the alpha we killed some time ago. He's in the special program, but I thought you should know to keep him away from her." Ethan knew Chris didn’t care much, but Scott was unstable.

Chris fell silent, frowning in displeasure, knowing that problems would always find their way to him. "Thanks for the information..."

"Well, don’t do anything reckless. That boy is just a victim, and maybe we could cure him." Ethan didn’t want to jump ahead, but they might be able to strip Scott of his abilities if they manage to do something with the serums.
