Guys! Enjoy this final episode to young royals! <3

Reacting To Young Royals - Episode 6

Comments

I do agree. Only a few days until season 2 and I am torn between’I can’t wait to watch it’ and ‘I am not ready for this’!😂

Graham & Ruth May

I agree. It’s heartbreaking. But maybe that is what is going to drive him towards the people who matter, like Simon and Felice, in season 2.

Graham & Ruth May

Interesting idea. Either way, I am glad that we got to hear Wilhelm say that to Simon. Important for him to actually say it and for Simon to hear it, too.

Graham & Ruth May

Also yes, I couldn't agree more with what everyone is saying that the writing and acting in this series is incredible! I was especially impressed by Edvin's performance in particular

Megan Brady

The "I love you" added in post that Edvin and Omar mentioned in that interview has never been expanded upon and Lisa has never commented. It may, indeed, have been an editorial decision. But it also possible that it was simply a technical issue. Edvin says the line into Omar's coat collar and it may have been difficult for a mic to pick it up or risk breaking the hug so they added it in post. Guessing.

My heart breaks for Wilhelm here.. from his perspective he is not privileged, but Simon is. He has everything Wilhelm wants - a normal life, loving and accepting family and friends.. while Wilhelm is just alone.

I loved watching your reactions to the series. The writing and acting are so good in this series. One of the things I love about it is that none of the characters are One dimensional they all make the wrong choices at times. Wilhelm didn't want to make the statement but he couldn't withstand the pressure put on him. Also you have to remember he's only 16 years old.

I won’t shoot you, but in the first 4 minutes teaser, I think your question is answered and thank God, because it’s such a - I can’t even think of an adequate word- relationship that I would be bereft if the answer was a different one. I think Sara is a very interesting and complex character and I am expecting turmoil for her in season two. I cried too, btw even though I was steeling myself because I knew what was coming but Jackie’s emotions set me off 😭 Just as well that you and I were not in the same room while watching this! 😏🙃

Graham & Ruth May

Another great reaction. With yours and all the other reactions and times I have watched, I still cry at this episode. Magnificent writing, cinematography, music and cast. But Edvin and Omar, my God, what wonderful young actors. And, it appears, wonderful young men as well. Bravo!

Dennis Verner

I have absolutely loved and adored your reactions to this show. It's my favourite show of all time for good reason! Soo excited for S2 to drop in only 4 more days!!

I didn’t realise at one point that I had tears in my eyes until they started falling, the emotions involved in this episode were heartbreaking. None more so I think than when he discovered that his mum knew it had been August before he did and hadn’t told him, that is the point where he knew her and the palace didn’t care about him as a person, only a royal prince and his look in the car in the final scene was, as someone already said, a look of war, that he wasn’t going to take it anymore ☹️ How is he going to get Simon to trust him again, or and don’t shoot me, will he even want Simon again after a Christmas break spent stewing in the palace? It was nice to see Felice so sad about Sara possibly leaving to go to another school, she’s really grown over the season and hopefully will grow even more in S2. Can’t wait for S2 and it’s now only 4 and a half days away ❤️❤️

Such a gut-wrenching episode, November 1 can't come soon enough. It's so good you're able to see and understand both sides, I see many people blaming Wille for what he did but did he really have much of a choice? He could've talked to Simon earlier though, instead of letting Simon find out about the statement from the internet. Omar was so good in that scene, you could see Simon's heart breaking and he didn't utter a single word. That's the only thing I'm blaming Wille for, other than that they're both victims in this horrible situation.

Once again, the performances in this episode are outstanding, as is the writing. I saw an interview with Edvin talking about the confrontation scene between Wilhelm and August, which I think is brilliantly active on both of their parts. He said the initial inclination was not for him to yell at August, he and it was only in later takes that he did that, and using one of those takes was absolutely the right decision. I loved Felice’s detective work as well in figuring out that August had made the video. The ending of the episode is definitely upsetting, though it very much set things up for a second season that looks as though it’s going to be another rollercoaster. It is interesting to hear some of the interviews available on YouTube with the actors in which they’re speaking English. Both Edvin and Omar are fluent in English, and you can also hear Omar‘s Venezuelan influence in his accent.

Now imagine watching this episode in July 2021 and having to wait over a year to know what happens! when I finished it I couldn't stop crying and even now, after having watched s1 a dozen times, it still hurts so much. I'm glad you could see both sides, I think that's what makes it even sadder. Nobody could win in this situation, both Wille and Simon are in such shitty situations and to think they're only 16! My heart hurts for them. Edvin and Omar are just incredible actors and reviews say they were even better in s2 so I'm excited to see that. Thank you for the lovely reaction, I can't wait to watch the next season!

It’s difficult to watch this episode again and difficult to process everything that strikes me about it, because of the overwhelming emotions it arouses. It’s incredibly tightly put together, for example, with a scene of Simon and the choir at the end and Wilhelm looking straight at him, mirroring the first time he noticed Simon in episode one. What a neat and telling way to frame their journey in season 1. Possible pointers for season 2 include Wilhelm’s cutting off his mother on the phone when she reveals that she knew about August but didn’t tell him and that amazingly chilling breaking of the fourth wall by Wilhelm in the very last shot of him in the limousine driving away. That look looks like a declaration of war to me. On all of them, the status quo, because he can see clearly now for the first time that with the exception of Simon and Felice, they are completely invested in his role, not in him as himself. Put in an impossible situation, as he definitely is, perhaps you can only respond by doing the impossible? I think that season 2 is going to be as much about Simon’s journey as Wilhelm’s, because how can he allow himself to trust Wilhelm again after being made the sacrificial lamb? But in that final scene of them together in the churchyard, you can so clearly see that he loves Wilhelm even if he doesn’t say the words back to him. Those words were apparently added after the shoot, because Omar said in an interview that Edvin did not say the line in the shot. That suggests to me that the writers were setting up a battle between love and duty for a second season and I am definitely here for that. 🙃❤️

This made my morning!!! I was always able to fight off the tears during this last episode. But your emotions broke me. But It felt good and was kind of a relief to cry along with you! ♥️ I’m counting the hours for the next season. Luckily I also started watching this show only a month ago. Thank you so much for all your videos and I can’t wait for your next reactions!!! Much love ❤️

Frances

You're so lucky you watched it when you did, just in time for season 2. I actually only watched it after I watched Heartstopper for the first time myself, so April/May time, so I haven't had to wait as long as those who watched YR when it first came out a year and a half ago, but still it's been a wait.... Looking forward to the new season. You should watch the trailer. It looks great.

Jade Coulthurst

such a gut wrenching end of the episode so imagine being someone like me who watched it when it first came out and having to wait until now for season 2 😂 its been hard to say the least!
