Thank you, you as well xx

Audrey Gunn

I think it’s so beautiful. Don’t normally rate Rihanna but the track is beautiful too. Have a great New Year, Audrey x❤️

Graham & Ruth May

Just love that, thanks for sharing it 😊❤️

Audrey Gunn

Yes, it really is. I love the track too. Also, it’s somehow more beautiful because it’s in black and white. Glad you enjoyed it, Ingrid. x

Graham & Ruth May

Beautiful!!! ♥️♥️♥️

Ingrid Machado Pena

There are a lot of edits of Young Royals out there, but if you’ve been watching them, you’ll know that some of them are not that good. I think this one is beautiful, so if you haven’t already seen it, hope you enjoy it too. Happy New Year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1je3V23ODQ

To add a minor fun fact; the guy who is helping Wilhelm with his uniform when he panics a bit is Lars Wallin. He is a well known (in Sweden at least) swedish designer who has worked with the real royal family for many years. I think it was a fun choice to have him doing that scene with this in mind. Oh and he is also openly queer. https://larswallin.com

Brazilian and Irish would be a wonderful combination! I went to university in Northern Ireland and really loved it there. A long time ago now!

Graham & Ruth May

I miss Ireland so much! If I wasn't brazilian I wish I could be irish!😂😂😂

Ingrid Machado Pena

Ha ha! I think the dog will be in one room well away from our cats! They have only had him for a few months and he’s just getting used to being a pet rather than a racing dog in Ireland, where he came from. As they’re trained to chase, even though he’s very placid and muzzled when necessary, I think it’s a bit risky! Hoping you are having a good Christmas, Dennis. x🎄🌊

Graham & Ruth May

Sounds like loads of fun. LOL

Dennis Verner

I agree with everything you said about August, Lane.

Graham & Ruth May

Nice! I am not sure Edvin really enjoyed the third food item! It isn’t really Christmas for us until Boxing Day, as that’s when our daughter, her boyfriend and their rescue greyhound will be arriving for 3 nights. Not sure about the logistics of a greyhound and 3 cats together in a fairly small house…🤔

Graham & Ruth May

Yes, Dennis, how is it that people aren’t horrified by that. Even if you knew someone much much better than he knows Simon, would you feel that you had any right to say that? Awful manipulating.

Graham & Ruth May

Yes, Ruth, with regard to Marcus, someone said, gaslighting with the talk about Simon's dad. It amazes me that some people don't get that.

Dennis Verner

There’s really nothing much left for me to say that someone has an already said above – that’s what happens when this comes out a few hours before I have a chance to watch it. I like the growth that you see in Wilhelm from the beginning of the season to the end, and this episode is particularly good in advancing that. And it’s good to see them giving August more dimensions, since very few people are wholly good or wholly bad, and he seems less like a very flat villain character and more like a real person who tends to let the unsavory parts of his personality take the reins more often than not.

Ingrid Machado Pena

so funny that you should post this because I had my very own Venezuelan Christmas dinner tonight with my housemates here in London!

Dennis - I also felt that August’s personality when he is with Sara is closer to Malte’s personality in the real world. In other words a good looking charming guy.

Michael

And I love that Wilhelm gives Simon the information and says he must do what feels right for him, he just wants him to know how he feels when he says he would give up the throne. He’s not trying to stop him reporting August and he says that again in the final scene of the episode. As it’s Christmas, here’s a nice little slice of the boys eating Venezuelan food and chatting about their friendship and being in the show. Happy holidays and lots of good wishes for the New Year, everyone! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6YEc5Xh-OY ❤️🎄❤️

Graham & Ruth May

Thank you Ruth for putting into words my feelings, sensations and thoughts. This show is another level! And the soundtrack another important character. ♥️

I see this episode as all about communication and one which contains more than one turning point. In episode 4, the kisses between Wilhelm and Simon were shot beautifully to suggest their magnetic attraction. It wasn’t that it was a mistake, in my opinion, more that they are both irresistibly and instinctively drawn to each other, so much so that their feelings cannot be eclipsed by all that has happened to drive them apart, even if on the level of logic, it would seem impossible for it to work out. (Sorry, but I discount Markus as an arch manipulator posing as a nice, harmless teddy bear of a guy who would do anything for Simon, but in fact hasn’t listened to him properly at all, so I have long since stopped even thinking about him as important or deserving of any great sympathy ) For me, the drive to Simon’s house by Wilhelm and their conversation about him being prepared to renounce the throne is crucial because it at last shows Simon that Wilhelm not only loves him, but would put him first. I don’t think Simon has believed that since the end of season 1. The book discussion in class is another turning point and is such a neat way of them communicating to each other that at last, they can fully understand the other’s point of view and for Simon, that he can see Wilhelm has struggled and had difficulties and restrictions to cope with just as much as he has. And yet, it’s so cleverly written that it’s still a private communication between them, despite the other people at the table. The final scene is wonderfully amplified by the choice of music. I just love all the music choices in both seasons, but especially season 2. And even though nothing is guaranteed and Simon says ‘I don’t know’ when Wilhelm asks, ‘What will happen to us?’ the episode ends with more (and again beautiful) communication, without any need for words.🫠🥰 After everything which the last two episodes of season 1 and most of season 2 have put us through, how great to see them together at the end of the episode, too. (Yeah, the whole viewing public were shouting out, ‘Curtains!’😂) In many ways, this is up there as the episode I admire the most, although it isn’t necessarily my absolute favourite.

Graham & Ruth May

I think of all the reactions to this series that I have seen, yours is the best...by which I mean, of course, most like mine. LOL One really has to watch this series more than once to catch all of the subtleties. Lisa's writing is so tight and layered. She loves to write parallel tracks and they run all through the story. And August. It is with huge credit to Malte that he is able to make August a completely different person when he is with Sara.

Dennis Verner

Kris (Crisis) by Karin Boye is a very famous Swedish novel and was used by Lisa Ambjörn (creator and head writer) brilliantly to clarify to Wille and Simon what their journey was all about.

Dennis Verner

Loved the reaction. ♥️ But I must say I don't agree with the take that Wille didn't suffer any consequences... We see him paying with his own mental health ep after ep. It makes me sad seeing people angry because some of us can be sympathetic towards him and actually understand where he is coming from. Anyways, I dont think this show is about us picking a side but being able to see and relate to the human aspect in each character... And to have a broader look at their circumstances. That's what I love about YR. It's not about perfection, right or wrong, but being human in it's fully meaning. Happy Holidays!!!!

Ingrid Machado Pena

Merry Christmas 🎄 The book is in fact real ☺️

Frances

You always post these when I’m just heading out the door 😂 Merry Christmas to you as well ❤️
