It’s such a lovely moment between Tao and Elle, and so beautifully realised by Will and Yaz. I got choked up the first time I watched it. Dare we hope that there are more of these little gems to dole out over the next few months of waiting? I certainly hope so. â¤ï¸

2023-01-06 00:08:51 +0000 UTCYes, originally volume 5 of the graphic novels was scheduled to be published at the beginning of February this year, but as I haven’t seen it anywhere as available to pre-order, I thought it would probably be delayed because of her huge commitments in regard to the scripts for season 2 and 3. I guess that in a way, the holding back of this deleted scene prolongs the ‘will they, won’t they’ aspect of the show for those people who don’t know the graphic novels and therefore don’t know what happens with Elle and Tao and it’s certainly a nice little hook for encouraging us to watch season 2. You’re absolutely right- how great to be enveloped in Heartstopper warmth again, even if only for a few moments! 🥰

2023-01-05 16:27:11 +0000 UTCDitto what everyone else said. But this is reiterated again in later episodes so having 2 points where Elle is showing her love for Tao is repetitive. It sucks it had to be cut in order to fit the 30 minutes cut for each episodes. Alice also sent out a huge letter to her Patreons recently regarding the status of Heartstopper comics and such, but she is so stressed out from her work on the TV series and trying to create the scripts for it. She did mention that she needs to at least get volume 5 out before the 3rd season TV series; otherwise, she will be doing a disservice to the fans to release scenes in advance that may or may not be covered in the comics.

I am guessing it was cut because everything established in it is covered elsewhere, and it was more important to get to the next plot point. But holding it back is strategically smart because it gives them something new to release between the two seasons to make us want season two even more.

2023-01-05 13:38:12 +0000 UTCI am pretty sure that this is part of that sleepover at the beginning of the Birthday episode. It is hard to completely tell because they are all under the covers but that makes the most sense to me.
