"Centrelink" is The unemployment office and refers to people who receive unemployment. A "bin chicken" is a pet name for the ibis bird, cause they eat out of the bins and are considered dirty. "Goon" is cheap boxed wine. "Pingers" are drugs in pill form. Calling someone a cunt is often a term of endearment. Also we swear ALOT. Also handy to know that our indigenous aboriginal people refer the themselves as "blakfullas" and it's spelt blak not black, it's not referencing someone's skin tone. Malakai and Missy are aboriginal, and it's common for aboriginal people to call each other brother, sister or "cuz", even if they have never met before. And it's a sign of respect to call all older aboriginal people aunty or uncle, even if you're not related. I hope you love the show as much as us aussie queers 🥰
